A: Great question! These shelves are primarily designed for decorative applications, so the back is flat similar to our onlays/appliques. There is a number of ways to install these, but the most common options are either to glue the shelf to the wall or you could use finish nails and nail them on the wall.

A: The shelf is intended for decorative use and is not designed to be load-bearing nor is it rated for load-bearing structural support. The amount of weight supported by the shelf is determined by the installation method used. The standard installation for this bracket is to use a construction grade adhesive such as Loctite PL Premium adhesive found here --> https://www.architecturaldepot.com/1390595.html. Additional support can be gained by adding nails or screws to the installation. The shelf comes factory primed and ready for paint or faux finish.
