Our rustic wood knee braces can hold up to 150lbs with proper installation.
Thank you for your interest in this product! The actual width of the brace would be 5-1/2". To make this brace, we start with a 6x6 timber and plane it down 1/4" on all sides to get a smooth and even finish. As a result of taking a 1/4" off of all sides, it makes the overall width 1/2" smaller. Best of luck on your project!
Thank you for your Inquiry. These braces are made from solid wood and are capable of holding weight, but how much weight they can support is dependent on how you choose to install them. If they are screwed into a stud using lag screws, they will be more secure and capable of holding up more weight. We are in the process of having these brackets professionally tested, and once the testing has been completed, we will know what the maximum load is.
