I bought one of these for a kitchen sink project. I was installing an instant hot water dispenser. I have done similar installations in 4 or 5 previous houses in 40 years of marriage. I had trouble with this part. The sleeve is designed differently from traditional implementations of this part. Instead of being the double angle shape, this sleeve has an angle on one side and a flat surface on the other side. The flat surface goes toward the nut. This part is labeled EVERBILT, with a product number LFA-113. I was unable to get the sleeve to go over the 1/4 OD copper tubing. I bought a second identical part in case the troubles were caused by a flaw in the first part. The second part also would not go over the tubing. So I went to a different retailer, bought a different brand part which had the sleeve with the angle on both sides. I had no trouble with the different brand, it was easy to install, and I had no leaks. Product managers change a product either to cut costs, or to create differentiation. This unusual shaped sleeve was probably an attempt to solve a basic problem. For a compression part with the traditional dual angle sleeve, it is easy for the sleeve to go missing. Changing the design like this makes the sleeve so it is semi-captive in the nut. It is less likely to go missing. For me, this new twist on the compression sleeve was not helpful.

Exactly what I needed to run two refrigerators from one water/ice line in our company office. I used 3 lines: one from the wall to this T, then one line for each refrigerator. My only unmet wish would be for a shorter water line: they seem to only come in 10-15 foot lengths. It doesn't hamper performance noticeably, it's just extra line that has to be coiled up behind the refrigerators. The Tee fitting went on well, no leaks the first time, nothing else needed (no teflon tape, no other fittings beyond what is provided). This part was recommended to me by a helpful Home Depot employee at my local store. The nuts and compression inserts provided in the bag are only needed for copper line - the icemaker lines you typically buy already have attachment nuts on them and do not need the little compression inserts.

What you display and what you stock are quite different....
What you display and what you stock are quite different. The one I bought was a LFA-12. I had a captive ferrule with the nut. THEE FERRULE WOULD NOT SLIDE ONTO THE TUBING. I fideled with the thing for at least 2 hours and wound up damaging the ferrule. With another nut/ferrule combo i managed to get it on the tubing a small amount. After tightening the nut to wherein the tubing felt somewhat captive, i was able to pull the tubing straight out. Upon attempting to reseat the tubing again, I torqued the nut until it squeeked. Obviously much too tight. Once again the tubing came out easily. Went to the store and as usual, you were out of this type of fitting as well as the older version with a "loose" ferrule. My rating not poor , but terrible with a negative 10 star rating
