Q:I have a six foot horizontal run followed by a four foot vertical run in my wet bar drain line. Will this pump be sufficient? I know it has a fifteen foot vertical pump ability but the six foot run before the four foot vertical has me concerned.

Answer This Question

A:  Bryan - The 6 foot horizontal might be a bit too long. This pump is more designed for a lift close to the sink. Also, this pump requires 6 ft of vertical pipe on top of the check valve. This is designed to seal the check valve and prevent dripping. -GP Support

Q:Can I transition the pipe from 1 1/4 to 2 before the elbow and use a separate 2 ball valve, separate 2 elbow and separate 2 everbilt check valve from the ones provided after the horizontal male adapter and 1 1/4 pipe?

          Compact Utility sink pump.
This utility sink pump by Everbilt is designed to be used as a pump for drain water in places such as laundry, utility and bar sinks. It is powered by a 110v power cord with an integral diaphragm switch that allows the pump to run automatically. The pump is designed to typically sit under the sink and gets installed directly under the sink drain without the use of a trap. The pump comes with a check valve and discharge ball valve used to adjust drain discharge rate. The 1/3rd horsepower motor is rated to flow from 9gpm to 21gpm depending on total feet of lift, with a maximum lift of 15 feet.

          Very nice little pump ..
This Everbilt Utility Sink Pump is great for a wet bar, utility sink, or anywhere your sewer line connection is higher than the drain outlet of your sink. The pump has a max. 15' lift capability which is adequate for almost any mounting scenario. It is heavier than I imagined and might require some support depending on the rigidity of the sink. A complete list of fittings that are required are included in the care and maintenance guide. I recommend this to anyone needing a drain solution.

Pump for a Special Upward Draining Situation
This Everbilt Sink Pump is designed to mount under a sink to overcome a condition in which the sink will not drain by gravity - for example, when the sink must drain upward or a situation in which the waste water would reenter the sink. It is ideal for basement bar sinks or utility sinks needing to drain upward. I used this pump to drain a bar sink in an outdoor swimming pool cabana. The sink needed to drain slightly upward to empty into the home septic system. This pump has a sensor prompting the pump to operate when water enters the intake port at the top and cuts the pump off again when the water is eliminated. There is no trap required in this installation and a foot valve (slip check valve) is included to keep waste water from returning to the sink. Also included is a total cut off valve. Detailed instructions with helpful grahics are included. There is even a drain screen included. A list of fittings needed for installation are included with the instructions and installation is very easy with a standard tools needed for pvc fittings.

          Basement Sink Pump
After gathering all of the pieces and parts for installation (see picture), assembly was straight forward and presented no surprises. The pump works fine for my purpose, which is to provide access to a sink in the basement where I keep a 3D printer, resin printer, and laser cutter, as well as other small hobbies requiring washing or water provision. The Everbilt pump used here is perfect for my minimalist needs.

A pump for your new wet bar.
This is a Sink Pump and not a Sump Pump (which frequently simply sits in a tub/basin and pumps out water as it comes into that tub or basin). A sink pump must be installed under a sink and, using additional pipes, be then connected to the threaded drain basket. One of the best uses for this pump is in a situation where your brand-new wet bar is in the basement rec room but there are no drain pipes nearby. This sink pump allows you to pump the water to another room where there is a sewer line which might be at the basement ceiling level. This particular model can pump water up to a height of eleven feet. The installation is quite complicated and there are certain requirements that cannot be ignored. Instructions that come with this pump are well-written and indicate clearly all of these requirements, such as adjusting the ball flow-valve (red handle) to match the sink outflow or installing the check valve (controls the “backwash”) lower than the sink drain connection. Additional PVC pipes are needed to reach your existing drain pipes. Then a T-joint is installed in order to connect. It is best to cut and assemble all the many pipes and dry-fit them before using any sealants.

          Well built sink pump
The unit is a lot bigger than I expected and heavy. I am a surprise it does not require to add support at the bottom to support the weight. This unit is specifically made for laundry sink and not a kitchen sink. It comes with a check valve, plastic ball valve and a sink strainer/screen to make sure only liquid goes through. It requires 15amps GFCI outlet and you can piggy back the power plugs since the diaphragm has piggy back plug. It seems well made. The amount of water it will push up lowers as the pipe gets longer or higher.

Includes extra parts, dual power plug, and 11-ft lift
Summary: includes extra parts, dual power plug, and 11-ft lift. They could have left the ball valve for you to buy yourself extra, but it's included, just like the flapper backflow valve. Nice touch. Also nice that the power cords are ten feet long, plus one also has a female receptacle so one can plug into the other and use only one wall plug. If it jams (pretty rare for a sink drain), pull it, remove six little screws on top, and the impeller is right there. Speaking of, it's a resin impeller, so no worry of rust there. Generally, I think it'll pump any water that ends up in the sink, whether that comes from a dishwasher, washing machine, or (somehow) a shower. The flow rate is also adjustable, so you can keep it from cycling unnecessarily, or crank it up to keep up with the faster flow of a clothes washer. Hangs right from the drain under a utility sink and can lift up to eleven feet, plenty to move water up out of almost any basement to drain level. Make sure you follow the instructions about starting the pump with the ball valve closed, then slowly opening it until the pump stops pulsating; the final setting of the valve is often over 85% closed. One year warranty, pretty standard. Won't see a ton of use at my place, so hopefully this is the last one I'll ever need.

Utility Sink Pump 1/3 HP Everbilt makes some great high quality products, this utility pump is very well made and well-engineered it is constructed of a hard thermoplastic, it comes with most of the hardware and easy to follow instructions for an easy installation, we are going to install an outdoor sink On our BBQ Island and that’s where I will be installing it, the 1/3 Hp motor operates on 4A 115 volts and the PSC motor is fan cooled, it has an 8 foot power cord and weighs 12.58 lbs.

          Pump it up
This is a great pump. It is manual or automatic. It can sense water on the pump and will pump it without intervention. The pump takes a little adjusting to set the flow in automatic. It can pump faster than the drain rate of the sink. The pump set comes with the check valve and ball valve to secure plumbing vent when not in use. Ideally for a wash tub or laundry sink, the pump can lift 11 feet if necessary (by the book). It needs a GFCI type outlet and the piggyback “switch plug” (pass-through) goes in and the pump plugs into the switch. There are simple instructions to adjust the flow to work best. It’s heavy and should be supported while installing. A “P-trap” is not necessary on the sink and the pump and check valve hold the plumbing vent. It is a pump and could get clogged with debris. Small stuff is fine, but the big stuff needs to be removed. Take caution to screen and filter the drain.

perfect for draining a utility sink, easy to install, works great
Works great for my requirement. I no longer needed a traditional utility sink in my laundry room since I replaced it with a large single bowl stainless steel sink. I didn't want to lose the flexibility of a large, rough use, utility sink so I installed it outside in my screened room. I can fill it up with a nearby hose and drain it using this pump. I attached a long pool backwash/drain hose to the pump discharge and roll it out when needed to drain the sink. I don't use the utility sink that often, usually to clean garden tools etc. This pump meets my requirements perfectly. I tested it with about 5 gallons or water in the sink and it drained in seconds. I don't have any vertical lift, so that helps. My connection made use of a standard utility sink drain and tailpiece, couldn't be easier to attach. If I want to move the sink just undo the tailpiece at the sink drain, move it and reattach the pump. Overall, just what I was looking for.
