These are a grade 2 or possibly a 5. They are not a grade 8 or higher. You will be OK with most household use, would not recommend for automotive use. good luck

Hello, are these tapped 1/8 IP?

NO, 1/8 IP or IPS is iron pipe straight. You find this thread on lamps and electrical fittings. You need to get a specific nut usually found in the lighting section of HD. This is not the nut you need.

how think are the nuts?

If your asking how thick is it? It is 3/16 of an inch thick.

The Everbilt Brand, 25-Piece per Bag 3/8 in. 16 TPI Zinc-Plated Hex Nuts meet my needs for general fastener use where grade five or higher are not mandatory. I find these nuts take high torque very well without yielding or stripping. In the photos below, two of these nuts, lock washers, and corresponding Everbilt cap screws have been used to retain a 60-pound lead acid battery and tray resting on top of a RV frame rail. All the fasteners used in the fabrication of the battery tray are Everbilt brand.

Must have for every DIY'r. 3/8-16 is one of the most common thread sizes found in the U.S. household and you can never have enough hardware in your garage or shop. This is a common nut for general commercial use considered a grade 2 or maybe a 5. I say this because the OEM does not state the grade so you must assume the lowest. Higher grades demand more money and the OEM would definitely state the grade in order to justify the price. Never replace a higher grade nut with a lower grade, bad things can happen. The zinc plating for corrosion resistance is uniform and well applied, starting threads do not have any burrs, overall a good product, recommended.

Well made and a good price Inevitably I will drop a fastener when I am working on a project and it will find a way to a place I cannot access or disappear entirely. And the nearest hardware stores are about thirty miles away. So it makes sense for me to keep spares in my hardware bins. Buying by the bag is the way to go for me, especially at the price point for this item. The nuts themselves are well made, threads and sizes are consistent. I have had no problems with any of them.

The 3/8" Zinc-Plated Hex Nuts will be added to my hardware collection. When you own a home and also do a few handyman chores for friends and family-you can never have too much hardware in your garage or shop. I like the quality of the "Everbilt" brand. This is usually the brand I purchase when I go to local/favorite Home Depot. Sometimes I just make a pass thru the hardware section and grab a few items for "just in case" projects. Great product.

Buyer Beware
I recently bought these to complete modifications to a steel shelving unit. I needed to use 40 1 1/4 x 20 machine screws, washers and nuts. I'm glad I bought the 100 pack. When I went to place the nuts on the screws, OUT OF THE 40 I TRIED TO USE, 18 WOULD NOT THREAD ONTO THE SCREWS. one or two I can accept, but almost 50% was frustrating. I found that they were not the right thread or the threads were stripped, or the actual nuts were not SAE. I'm not sure exactly what the issue is, but I'm glad I had the extra nuts that did fit right. I've not checked the remaining nuts in the package, so there may actually be more that are wrong/bad. So the message to the buyer is - get twice as many as you think you are going to need in case they are wrong/bad.
