Will this fitting work with 1/4 inch PEX tubing?

Asked by Tim August 22, 2020

Compression fitting sizes refer to the OD measurement of tubing. Please verify the OD of your tubing to determine the correct size compression fitting. Pex is measured by ID so 1/4” ID pex is typically 3/8” OD.

Maybe. It depends on how tight it was cranked the first time and how bad the sleeve is contorted. If to damaged, each little pc can be bought separately... in pairs.

Does this include a rubber gasket, or is it not necessary to use one to prevent leaks?

Asked by El April 16, 2020

Answers

Not necessary, It's a compression fitting. Just don't try to separate the collar from the nut, you'll chip the soft edges and make it difficult to get onto the tubing.

Can this product be used with potable water?

Two hours ago I wouldn’t known what to do with this item, but while installing a new kitchen faucet I discovered the old system they used to connect my water filtration system was just not going to work with my new water lines. After a quick trip to my local Home Depot a friendly employee showed me this, explained how to use it and insured I had the right size. It works like a charm, very tight connections, no leaks and easy to install.

2 out of 3 stripped out
Found a fully sealed pack. Went to use them and found that 2 out of the pack of 3 had stripped threads on the inside. Very poor quality nuts.
