What is actual lead content rating? Someone asked before but answers conflicted. Does it qualify as lead free or meet qualifications for potable systems? Need hose bib for RV water supply.

Is the handle interchangeable with a single lever like this one?

        Answer This Question

Hi there, handles are not designed with interchangeability in mind. When installed on the outside of a wall, a lever handle would struggle with valve operations. We hope this helps with your project.

Hello there, we do not recommend disassembling the valve as reassembling the valve takes specialized equipment and this would invalidate the warranty. For more information, we recommend speaking to our customer service team at 1-800-782-2385. We hope this helps with your project.

Can this be used for a washing machine 1/2 in. input water line, output washing machine hose from the valve to the washing machine?

              Answer This Question

Hi Steve, this valve is not designed for this type of application, but can support flow control to a washing machine. Washing machine hoses come with a 3/4-in FHT end connection, and this valve's outlet is 3/4-in MHT which pairs perfectly together. We hope this helps with your project.

                Answer This Question

Hi Skeeterbug, this valve has a dual inlet of 3/4-in MPT or 1/2-in FPT, allowing it to connect to fittings or pipes. However, the inlet is still sized to 1/2-in FPT, so we recommend planning your project's flow based on this size. We hope this helps with your project.

It is solid brass and an easy quarter turn and it’s a high flow valve.

                  Barely a 1/4” Valve In a 3/4” Wrapper
Nice enough valve, I chose it for the size, nearly 90 bib with a ball valve. If volume is of little consequence, should work fine. HOWEVER, the port/orifice is so small it defies belief, it MIGHT be a 1/4” at best! I want the volume of a 3/4 valve, that’s why I chose to use 3/4, this isn’t even close to the bore of a 1/4” fitting. This could easily be illustrated to prospective buyer with better product description, specs and a pic or two of the throat accompanying the listing. Pics below to show comparison to 1/2” valves that were removed.

                    Well built solid brass.
I have a mixed review for this Everbilt 3/4" MIP or 1/2" FIP x 3/4 in. Forged Brass Quarter Turn Hose Bibb Valve. I am using this as a drain valve for my water heater. I like the fact that is solid brass construction but the hole in the ball is the same size as the one in a 1/2" valve. I am sure that is because it has the option for 1/2" pipe. The valve is excellent quality and is very easy to install. Just put a few rounds of teflon tape or pipe thread sealant on the threads and screw it in. I have no leaks and it makes it much easier to drain the water from the tank than the multiturn valve options. One word of caution is due to it being a quarter turn valve you need to be very careful not to bump the handle because it opens very quickly! Overall it is a great valve other than the small hole in the valve ball. I can recommend this valve.

Lead containing solid brass hose bib.
I ordered this Everbilt quarter turn hose bib valve as a replacement for an existing stop & waste valve I have been using for an outdoor hose hookup. The old valve, as all stop & waste valves will, developed a constant drip even when turned off. Such valves have rubber gaskets and o-rings that eventually harden, crack and develop leaks. This 1/4 turn valve will develop so such problems due to its chrome plated ball and Teflon seat. Installation was straightforward - wrap the threads with Teflon tape (I also brush the threads with Real-tuff pipe sealer for good measure) and screw into the 3/4” female fitting. Tighten securely to the proper orientation. That’s it! A couple words of caution. First, the brass this valve is cast from contains lead. DO NOT USE FOR POTABLE WATER. Secondly, all exterior hose bibs require a check valve here in Connecticut, so to comply with health department regulations a separate one should be screwed onto the hose outlet before attaching a garden hose to it. The pictures I included with this review shows a hose attached directly to this valve. This was for testing and illustration purposes only and I have since detached the hose and screwed on the required check valve. This valve is rated for a max working pressure of 125 psi. This valve also has 1/2” female threads tapped on the inside of the inlet allowing it to be screwed onto a 1/2” nipple or 1/2” male adapter. Personally, I would never use it that way because such an installation would leave exposed 3/4” male threads - sloppy and unprofessional at best. This valve is imported.

The quarter turn Everbilt is great for any quick repair.
The Everbilt 3/4 MIP or 1/2 FIP forged brass quarter turn hose bib is great to have around the house in case the need for a replacement faucet arises. the faucet will work with any half inch that needs replacement and many three-quarter inch size that might have failed. The one quarter turn for full on or off is very nice for watering. The only drawback I found was that the inside water passages are drilled instead of being forged so their diameter is smaller than the forged faucet so the maximum flow is lower on this type of faucet.

Brass with ball valves, no leaks!
I used this brass valve for attaching my outdoor garden hose to a remote water outlet installed on my above ground garden. My previous plastic valves, that I replaced this brass valve with, cracked in just a few years. Makes for easy access to water outlets for watering plants. It installed easily and did not leak. I like the ¼ turn ball type valve. It opens and closes smoothly. I have only bought ball valves for my plumbing for years and prefer them to the old gasket type valves. I have found ball valves have never worn out and start leaking years later. The hose threads also worked well attaching to my garden hose with no leaking.
