I received my 3/4 in. x 3/4 in. x 1/2 in. copper fitting today, it is a nice and heavy fitting with a 50 year warranty. It is resistant to dezincification, which I found out is when alkaline water removes the zinc from the fitting leaving it weak and porous. I'm using this fitting in my attic to replace some bad pipes and needed this reducing tee for a outside faucet that comes off of the main pipe.

Provides a quick and compact way to establish a single fixture branch supply line from a main supply line run. With back-to-back kitchens and hose bibbs or commonly aligned bathrooms and powder rooms, this fitting lends an excellent arrangement for the root valve of each branch supply line, without the necessity of creating a "manifold-like" arrangement.

On the Gadjetman DIY scale this is is "not for the faint of heart," sweating copper is a skill that your average homeowner just does not have. If this is for your potable water system and you are not very skilled at sweating copper pipes, please call a plumber. On the other hand, if it is for a craft project or experimentation this reducing tee is exactly what it says it is it goes from and to 3/4 inch copper cup [female] with the side out [the vertical part of the tee] being 1/2" female copper pipe {cup}. The adapter was sized perfectly, the one sent to me was uncorroded, cleaned up quickly, and the part installed quickly and easily.

Not so long ago I was quite the sweated copper plumbing snob, thinking every thing else was suspect and of inferior durability. I have softened my stance a bit recently. However you really can't beat the durability and reliability of a time tested system such as the sweated joint for copper pipe. It does take some doing to get it right but once you do it is permanent. the fitting is heavy copper and seems well made and will last a lifetime.

(What's this?) I've had a history of plumbing water piping vibrating in the wall of my hot-water-heater outlet piping. I installed a water hammer arrestor to help eliminate the problem. I had the water hammer arrestor ordered and the cup X cup X reducing tee delivered t o me by Home Depot. Cut the 3/4" outlet water line from my HWH (where the problem was) and soldered the reducing tee and the arrestor to the 1/2" outlet of the tee. Refilled water line and problem resolved. Reducing tee and water hammer arrestor all made from copper.

I have always had a preference to copper and brass. I know it costs more, but in my opinion it is worth the extra cost. This is heavy gauge copper and is well made. This is perfect for hooking up an ice maker line or any other place where you do not need to full flow of the 3/4 inch line. It does require more experience with soldering than just using PVC tubing and fittings but it is a better material.
