It doesn't look like the picture is correct. Isn't that a 3/8 MIP adaptor?

Asked by HDNickname June 30, 2020

Answer

The picture is of the correct fitting, type MIP x Comp. We will update the website with a picture that shows the Comp vs MIP ratio more clearly. Thank you for your feedback.

Can you use this on a gas dryer

Asked by Bones March 24, 2020
1
Answer

The compression side is designed to work with softer metal (copper) and vinyl piping, both of which are not appropriate for use in Natural gas applications. We would recommend consulting a licensed plumber who knows local code to identify the proper method for completing the connection.

what does MIP mean

MIP means Male Iron Pipe Threaded.

So if we are inserting OD 1/4" copper tubing into the compression side (with the insert)...

Asked by Tyler January 26, 2020

Answer

The insert is only for non-rigid tubing such as vinyl. If the pipe thread is the SS that is fine, but if it is 1/4” SS tubing it will most likely leak, as the brass ferrule will deform before the SS tubing.

Is the 1/4" end 1/4" NPT? And the 1/8" end for 1/8" copper tubing (i.e. 1/4" OD tubing)?

Asked by Customer January 12, 2020

Answer

For this fitting: 1/4” comp and 1/8” MIP

Will the 1/4 thread accept an ice maker hose connection

Asked by Marty June 8, 2019
1
Answer

The 1/4” Compression fitting will fit 1/4” OD plastic or copper tubing. Compression insert is recommended for nonmetallic tubing. Be sure to not overtighten connection to prevent leaks.

Is this adapter safe enough ( health wise ) to be used as connector for inline refrigerator filter ?

Asked by Raji April 26, 2019

Answer

This compression adapter can be used with plastic tube if the adapter connection can be fit to each other.

This is the third time I’ve purchased Everbilt 1/4 inch straight or elbow compression fittings. One feature I like is that the collar and compression nut are pre-mounted. I’ve lost too many collars to count. With Everbilt, the collars can’t be lost/misplaced.

This got the job done. I was replacing a kitchen faucet at night and during the final steps of installation noticed that the connection from my PEX pipe (1/2 in.) didn't fit my new connectors from the faucet (3/8 in.). Feeling frustrated, I headed off to a "blue-colored" competitor. The associate told me exactly what I needed, but they were all out. He was nice enough to pull up a picture of the exact part I needed and send me on my way, as I told him I was headed to his "orange" competitor. Arriving at HD just before closing, I showed the pic to an associate, and he found it right away. Back home, I installed the adapter in seconds to finish the faucet installation. No leaks! I thought the price seemed a little high for 2 adapters, but I'm no plumber, and given my situation, I couldn't be picky.

Two issues, purchased an expensive faucet from HD and I believe the fittings should have been included with the faucet. When trying to use these fittings they had not been deburred. They would have cut they the rubber gaskets in both the hoses and the faucet ends. Put them in the lathe and deburred and then they worked fine.
