Q:Product info says it is FIP 1/2" but the drawing says 1/2" FNPT. which is it.

Answer This Question

A:  The one I got seems to be 3/4" FIP since it doesn't seem to stop when threaded onto taper threads.

Q:This product contains lead according to the box, it that correct?

    Answer This Question

A:  "Lead free" is currently defined as having an average of ≤ .25% lead across the wetted surfaces. So technically they're all still gonna have lead, even the "lead free" fittings since that's what they've currently decided to be a safe amount of lead.

Brass fitting for bbq quick disconnect gas hose to natural gas shut off valve.
Fitting fits my application for my gas bbq to hook up to my natural gas quick disconnect. Of course I had to buy a 3/8” nipple too along with this fitting. Item of this reducing coupling fitting was expensive, almost 10.00 for a little piece of brass.

Cracked after 9 months of use
I hand tightened this with a small wrench to attach a threaded hose bib to a threaded copper pipe. I used plumbers tape. 9 months later, I noticed the paint on the wall had bubbled. It didn't leak the weeks after installing it. Luckily, I had put in a small access panel. I'm returning this garbage asap. This isn't the first time an Everbilt product has failed. Never again purchasing this brand.

These heavier duty couplings are the answer for a higher preasure application, (in this case), a changeover from a Chinesium to NPT compressor head application. A higher torque load for these flare fittings is possible.

I used one of these to connect a hose bib to a male NPT fitting. I didn't tighten them all that hard, but in a few months, the Everbilt fitting cracked and started leaking into my daylight basement. Luckily, we noticed it before more than a few gallons of water leaked into the basement. For my sort of use, I'd purchase a stainless steel or thicker walled fitting.

These are thin walled and the heat from my water heater was enough to crack it within one day of use. I don't care about the part lost as much as I care about the water leak it caused. Home depot should replace these with a thicker part.
