I ordered these for a different reason than boat hooks. I have a sump pump that I use in my older pool. I let the pump down the six feet using a rope. The pump sometimes turns sideways and I have to play with it to get it upright and in the low spot that I want it. It does have a handle on the top that the rope is tied to. I put one of these hooks on a ten foot piece of PVC pipe,. Now I can use the hook to keep the pump upright and in place. Not what the product was made for, BUT WORKS GREAT.
