Can I raise the height of the hydrant?

All of the hydrants are designed to have about 30" above ground. They have been engineered so that the relief mechanism is below the frost line. If you are able to satisfy that requirement and maintain rigidity you should be able to raise it to suit your needs.

I just installed it so we will see about durability but it looks and feels well built. The thing I like most about this unit is that it is super easy to turn on and off. Very smooth. Much better than any other Hydrant I have used.

(What's this)
The hardest part of this install was digging the hoe to get this installed. Its very easy to install once the hole is dug. It takes a one inch hydrant adapter on the bottom of it to hook it up to the line. All the hydrant adapter is a one inch elbow with pipe threads on one side and barbed fitting on the other to hook up to black water line or pex tubing like I used in my application. It works really smooth and isn't really hard to open or close the valve like on some models. It has a weep hole in the bottom of the pipe that drains the pipe every time the valve is closed. To install you dig your hole fill with gravel so it can drain, hook up your water line and your done. I installed mine beside the front porch so it was easy to fill the watering can for the flowers on the front porch.

This is exactly what I've been looking for and needing for my yard! It is a beautiful addition, and is easy to install and use! It is perfect for those who have trouble bending over, as you can bury it deeper to reduce the height, or, as I did, only bury about 30 inches, as I did! I bought a cheap hose caddy and some hose clamps, and mounted it right to the pipe! The handle makes operation effortless and you can operate it with one finger! I HIGHLY recommend this yard hydrant to anyone thinking about adding an additional water source to their yard!

So happy to find this! I love that i can have running water all year round in the barn and chicken coop without fear of frozen spigots! A little bit of work, but so worth it and this will last for years. Very nicely built item. In the summer i will also be able to hook it up to auto waterers to be just that little bit more automated in the barn/chicken house. Well done!

(What's this)
This is so nice. I installed it close to the driveway for washing cars, etc. Our other hose is about forty feet away and not as convenient. Luckily there was a supply line for the lawn sprinklers near so it made the job easier. You will need to purchase a couple of bags of gravel. Put about six inches in the bottom of the hole and the rest around the bottom of the hydrant. This allows the drain to operate properly when the shut off valve is closed . I installed the supply with 3/4" pex tubing. Everything went well with no surprises. They hydrant operates nicely and supplies a good volume of water. Here are my takeaways. Don't buy one that is longer than needed. I bought a 4' and in the south and I probably only needed a 2'. If you live in the south install it in the winter or early spring before the clay soil gets hard. When cutting the water line cut it just a bit long and then sneak up on the correct length. I just about cut mine too short. And make a sketch of the installation with a parts list. Prevents extra trips to pick up fittings, clamps etc. A very nice addition to our home!
