Can I orders these and if so long before they can be delivered to my store for me to pickup?

Asked by: tlyn
This is a very common product and most all HD stores will have it in stock. If you need it that day and your store is out, HD is the largest home improvement outlet and there usually is another one near by. HD's helpful staff can very quickly tell you the closest store, directions to and how many of that particular product they have in stock. If you choose to have it ordered to your HD store it usually comes very quickly depending on the product and where it is coming from and there is no charge.

I came back from my family's Independence Day celebration and my clothes were on the bottom of my closet. I did not overload the pole with too much weight. If one could find a solid oak pole it would bend before breaking if it were overloaded. The glue is supposed to be stronger than the wood. Any construction worker, material science engineer, or carpenter will tell you this. But the way in which it failed - perfect break between fingers - leads me to believe that an insufficient amount of glue was used in the creation of this product. Therefore there is a quality control issue with the manufacturer. I doubt I have the receipt still and frankly it is not worth my time to go looking for it at this point, but I attempted to ask Home Depot for a credit toward a metal closet pole while telling them my experience with the product using their 'Live Chat' feature on the website, but I did not accomplish either of those things, so I am writing this review so that you may be a more educated consumer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent closet rod for custom color matching I bought this closet rod because I am making my own custom walk-in closet cabinets, and I wanted to be able to stain the rod to match the surrounding shelving. This fit the bill. I did a light hand-sanding to get a smooth finish prior to staining and topcoating. If you are considering buying this item, I have two suggestions. First, buy it in person and carefully select your rod. Many of the rods in the store had big gouges and/or splintery wood grain, so I picked one that was fairly smooth (as always, hand-sanding improves the finished look). Second, if you're using this rod for a 6-foot span, you will need a center support. Most closet rods can't (or shouldn't) span more than about 2 or 3 feet without extra supports.
