Picture shows self drilling tip and they WERE NOT self drilling, they were regular tips. Bought 5 boxes that are now useless and sitting on a shelf in my shop!

If you have a drill/driver
then you really need to keep these screws with the drill. Self drilling point goes through most anything you're likely to encounter that isn't thick steel or masonry. They are especially handy when you have to put a screw through some tough plastic material that could split. The drill point removes the need to drill any pilot hole or the frustration of keeping pre drilled holes lined up. Most jobs where you have to screw through something to attach to sheet metal are far easier if you have self drilling screws like these in various lengths. The built in washer reduces the chances of the screw pulling through, and the straight shaft part just under the washer doesn't cause anything to split as could happen with a bugle head screw.
