            Answer This Question

A:  It doesn’t seem to be water proof. It absorbs water.  It is heavy canvas. I actually like it because it has weight to it and doesn’t blow around the way plastic does.

Great for painting and other craft uses. Right now we're using it as a canvas top for our Renaissance Faire booth and it's great.

              Paint goes through
I had no idea that I would need to clean up a paint drip immediately if it dripped on this drop cloth. Paint soaked right through in multiple places and ruined my carpet. I spent $35 on this and it was pointless.

This is a good sized drop cloth that is very useful for doing 'a couple ladder's worth' of wall at a time. It's relatively light weight for canvas. I haven't had it long enough to state how long it will last, but in the short time I've had it, I haven't had any issues with it. The tag says it's made of 'All undetermined fiber-textile by-products'. I assumed that means it's made from recycled material. The canvas is bound on the edges by the same material as the rest of the canvas, I'm not sure how much dragging the threads will take but I haven't noticed any wear on the short time I've used it.

I've sworn off the thin plastic drop clothes for some time now. These canvas drop clothes are a bargain in comparison. First off is that they are easy to use, unfold it, place it and it stays in place. They are easier to work on they aren't slippery and they contain spills, and if you're sloppy and step in a drip, if you walk further the canvas is better in stopping the tracking of paint off of it. They are 1000% better when doing any king of tear out or demo with their ability to protect the surface they are on from abrasion/scratches, etc. Then, they are washable and reusable. I always get asked if paint soaks through, the answer is no, I've had several accidents and paint has never soaked through, not even close.

The Everbilt 12 foot by 15 foot 8 oz. Canvas Drop Cloth is a high quality product. The seams are doubled stitched and should provide years of service. The size is only slightly smaller than the 12 foot by 15 foot listed and the actual dimensions are clearly listed on the package. The square foot coverage is also listed on the package. I recommend this product.

Good sized drop clothe for bedrooms and such. Durable fabric at 8oz. Edges, corners and seams are double stitched, so it looks like it will last a long time. No paint spills bled thru while using it. Even intentionally placed a good thick glob of paint on one corner, and let it sit there for a couple of hours. No paint bleed or leak thru to other side at all. Great protection for your floor. That's what you want from a drop clothe. Folds up easily when done for storage. Reusable.

Versatile drop cloth for painting projects, protecting floors, or covering furniture. Rated as “Medium Duty”, it’s thick enough to protect floors or furniture, but not so heavy that it’s difficult to spread out, reposition, or fold. Versus Everbilt’s “Heavy Duty” version, the Medium Duty seems better suited to covering furniture during painting or remodeling projects. The description says it’s “super absorbent”, and it probably is, eventually. As a test, I spilled water on it and let the water sit for 3 minutes. As you can see in the picture, the water stayed on the surface of the cloth and I was able to blot it dry with a towel. To me that’s even better than if it were quickly absorbent because it gives you time to clean up a big paint spill before it soaks through to the floor or furniture you’re trying to protect. A few things to be aware of... The actual size is a few inches shy of 12 x 15 (length and width). No big deal, but just be aware if you’re choosing this size specifically because you need to cover the floor of a room that is exactly 12 x 15. It’s light enough that it can shift or bunch up on hardwood or tile. You will want to anchor it or tape it along the edges to keep it in place as you work or consider Everbilt’s version with a latex/rubber backing. The stitching on the edges is a bit “iffy”. OK, it’s a drop cloth, not fine bed linens, but the perimeter feels like it might eventually unravel if you machine wash it frequently. Even then, it would still work as a drop cloth. There was the slightest of odor coming from the cloth. For the super sensitive, you may want to note the label (see pic) that describes the fiber content. Recommended Everbilt 12 ft. x 15 ft. 8 oz. I intend to use this tarp to cover one of my cars in the winter when it is not being used. The unbacked canvas keeps any accumulated moisture form sweating under the tarp. This tarp does not have any eyelets to hold it down but that is not an issue as long as it is inside. The canvas is nice and heavy and stays where I put it. As long as the car is washed before it is covered there will not be any dirt to scratch the paint when the canvas is applied.

The Everbilt 12 foot x 15 foot 8 oz canvas drop cloth is a excellent solution for catching anything you don't want to have to clean up later. I had purchased a couple smaller ones in the past to use along the walls while painting and really liked the quality of them and they are not to lite or to heavy, the 12 x 15 weighs a total of 11 pounds. The drop cloth is hemmed along the outside edge all the way around, which helps reinforce the endurance of it. A very nice drop cloth to use for any type project for protection !

Anyone who has ever painted and said I won't make a mess usually doesn't paint very often. Everyone needs a certain degree of protection from a drop cloth. To me this is the ultimate in painting protection from splatters, drips or spills. This is a nice canvas drop cloth that has sewn edges to prevent fraying. It's also absorbent should you knock over the paint pan or can. This is a great size for protecting a large area.
