Product Overview

Save time, money and labor costs, LedgerLok is the first fastener engineered to attach deck ledger boards to the rim board of the house with no pre-drilling. No need to predrill and hand-ratchet in 1/2 in. galvanized lags and washers. LedgerLok also has stronger design shear values than 1/2 in. galvanized lag screws. Plus, with LedgerLoks smaller shank diameter even a cordless drill (14.4 volts or higher) zips them right in saving on battery life and additional tooling costs.
  • Nationally code compliant. ESR #1078
  • Head stamped for easy code inspection
  • Built in washer hex-head design eliminates the need for additional washer, saves you time and money
  • Costs significantly less per piece than 1/2 in. galvanized lags and washers, save even more money
  • Guaranteed corrosion resistance for the life of the project, ACQ approved
  • Free 5/16 in. hex driver bit in every package
  • Common project applications: remodeling, fencing, storage, cabinets, framing

Building my own hip roof with a windows perk, I was not sure how I was going to attach all the trusses without rafters. I want an open view of the interior roof. These worked awesome!!!!

Pricy but effective
These are not the cheapest fasteners out there, but the end value is in the results. I used these (5 boxes) to fasten landscape timbers when building a large planter box/downspout drain system. They went in without needing pilot holes. Held the drive direction accurately. Did not split the timbers with the exception of one bad board. They draw down very tight, and will even draw through the wood if not controlled. Be sure to set drill to resist overdriving through the wood. NOT ONE OF THESE BROKE FROM STRESS! Anyone who has used long screws like these knows that you can expect some units to fail during installation. These screws do not fail! With a powerful drill/driver, your are far more likely to pull the screw through the wood, than you are to break one of these screws. The flanged head eliminates the need for washers. I did use a forstner bit to create head recesses, but don't think I needed to, as the screws are strong enough to create a recess for themselves. The hex head drive ensures positive drive, using the included hex drive bit. But I do prefer a neat job, so I did the extra recesses for my own satisfaction. The outter finish of the screws allows them to glide through the wood. I didn't even need to use the side handle of my drill to control the torque required. In fact, these screws require so little torque that you could hold the drill one handed in most cases. I was able to drive these all day long on a single charge of my cordless drill's Lithium battery. Real value is not only in the initial price, but rather in the overall experience of using a product. These screws are expensive, but they work easy, drive true, hold strong enough for anything within reason, and save a lot of time and effort. To me, that spells extremely high overall value!

I use these for post bases on deck railings as well as attaching ledger boards.
I have used a railing system purchased at Home Depot several times, and I substitute these for the supplied lags included with the railing. Every inspector in trying to shake the railing asks what am I using to hold the railing in place? Into solid blocking below these things do a fantastic job. And the widened head extends the holding area and really pulls the post base down. I have used these for their intended purpose as well, and they do an excellent job of attaching ledger boards I prefer them to another well-known manufacturer of structural hardware, and they are much less expensive as well. And I have removed some of these after three years for a remodel and there was no sign of age at all. Very satisfied and I have purchased them multiple times.

    work- but follow the code!
These are awesome and easy- but spendy- they do not replace lag bolts 1 to 1- By code, I had to use 80 for a new construction 40' porch ledger @ 60 lb live load ( yes, that is over minimum needed). Also- Building Inspector wants to see the package that specifies they are good for PT lumber and code approved. So, keep the package, just in case.
