Do you have the 20 watt, T4 G8 dimmable bulb that is only 1.25" tall?

AnswersThe product height listed as 1.8 is in-correct. The actual size is 1 5/16 or 1.3 inches from bulb tip to pin. This is the shorter bulb needed for the older puck lights. Mine have lasted several years installed in and under my cabinets.

AnswersReplacing undercounter bulbs. Little effort. HINT: wear some type of gloves so that no moisture or grease gets on the bulb(s). The liquid, no matter how small, will cause a heat spot on the bulb and might cause it to fail prematurely.

AnswersTake your old bulbs to Home Depot. All you need to do is make sure the two wires, or what I call the legs sticking out the bottom, are the same size. Bulb size does not matter. Ask a HD employee, they are quick to assist.

I use this bulb in the puck light fixture of my display case. It provides the appropriate amount of illumination for my needs - not harsh or overwhelming. My only issue is that it doesn't last as long as I think it should. I gave it only four stars because I feel that I am having to replace blown-out bulbs entirely too often. I think that at some point, I will probably replace it the fixture with an LED version.

Even though the bulbs are projected to last 4000 hours they don't last very long perhaps as few as 100 hours, and each bulb cost $4.00 compared to other longer lasting LED that are lot cheaper.
The only reason for buying these are, we are stuck with having to buy them as we have installed them as under cabinet lights in our kitchen and they are 120V.

Thank you for your feedback. Please make sure to use gloves/protection when installing/handling these Halogen bulbs. They should not be handled with bare hands as this may cause them to fail prematurely.

Simply don't last
So I purchased an entire under the cabinet-over the counter 5 light system with dimmer for my kitchen. Nice! Spent hours drilling tiny holes in the cabinet bottoms and holes from cabinet to cabinet to completely conceal all wires. Again, nice. However after the first two years the original bulbs began to fail. These replacement bulbs are now a constant battle with one going out every two months or so. These bulbs are not as bright as whatever the originals were, but still produce enough light to make me somewhat happy. But they SIMPLY DON'T LAST. Every month or two I have to spend another $7.98 on a "2" pack, and it's like playing a keep-up game with these bulbs. But I can't find any others that will work with my system. NOTE: At one point the manufacture changes the pin part slightly and they wouldn't even go into the socket. That problem seems to have gone away.. but now I worry every time I pick up a new pack. Don't believe the package statement of lasting 3000 hours. they don't, but I need them. UG!
