Working as described
I am seeing lot of negative reviews for this light bulb. I purchased last week and after verifying it, I am writing this review. This is what I did, first I set the setting to "moon" and replaced this bulb on one of my fixture at my front door.
Please note I did this during the day around 2 PM. First, I turned on light's switch, it tuned on immediately.
So after making sure light turned on and there is no defective, then I turned off the light.
Waited till night, around 9 PM, I turned on the light, as expected it was on. Please keep the switch always tuned on position from this point. Waited for 10 minutes at inside home to make sure there will be no motion around the light bulb, it turned off automatically. After few minutes, I opened the door, light turned on as it detects the motion. It's also getting tuned on when someone come to home from outside during the night. It's detecting the motion within few feet distance. Please also note, It's not turning on during the day even though it detects the motion.
So, for me it's working as described and keeping this and not returning.

Over the years I've changed the light bulbs in my house from incandescent bulbs to CFLs. But over the past few years LED bulbs have come into play and as the CFLs needed replacing I've been switching over to LEDs. Recently I came across the Feit Electric 40-Watt Equivalent Soft White (2700K) A15 Frosted Glass E26 Base Refrigerator LED Light Bulb and was pleasantly surprised, I guess because I've never pictured a replacement for the refrigerator. The bulb is the size of your regular appliance bulb and gives off the equivalent of 40 watts of soft white light while only using 5 watts of electricity and lasting up to 15,000 hours. So for all you power saving savvy people, don't forget to switch out the refrigerator bulb.

The Feit Electric 40 Watt Equivalent Refrigerator LED Light Bulb should last at least the 13.7 years based on the 3 hours a day usage guide because it doubtful anyone's fridge door is open for 3 hrs daily. Its the same as a standard 40 watt but only uses 5 watts of energy. Throughout my home i only use the 40 watt equivalent to save on the utility bill.
Compared side-to-side against my old fridge light bulb the LED is certainly brighter!
The bulb costs more in the beginning but will save you in the end in cash and time spent NOT changing them out.

I have a swing arm wall lamp with a metal shade over my bed. All the light bulbs I tried were too large for the fixture, in that they extended to the bottom of the shade. I was looking for a smaller bulb that was LED, soft white, and no more than 40 watts. This refrigerator bulb is perfect. You can see from the picture, how much smaller it is than the traditional CFL bulb.
If you are looking to replace some of your standard incandescent appliance bulbs, this Feit Electric appliance bulb is a good candidate. Its the same size & shape as a standard incandescent appliance bulb and looks almost exactly the same. It does not have any of the familiar LED bulb coverings, markings etc (like a white base collar). They are almost a dead-on match for the old incandescent style. There are warm white (2700K). Power consumption is 5W and have a brightness of 450 Lumens. They do get warm to the touch, but not hot; which means it won't melt the plastic bread wrapping if you leave the fridge door open a little too long. The manufacturers estimated life expectancy is 15,000hrs. The light pattern it gives off, looks to be consistent in all directions; no dark spots or shadows.

While this is meant for use in appliances such as refrigerators or dryers I have been using the bulb in my garage door opener. When using incandescent bulbs the vibration of the motor seems to lessen the life of the bulb so thought I would give one of these LED bulbs a try. The 2700K gives off a warm color which I like, and the light brightness is 450 lumens while using 5 watts. The bulb has been installed for a few weeks and going strong, so hope it lasts close to the 15,000 hours stated on the package.

If you still have an appliance that uses a standard appliance bulb and its time for a new one, why not go L.E.D.
Consider this A-15 E26 LED bulb by Feit Electric.
It give off a 2700K soft white light equivalent to a 40 watt standard incandescent bulb while only using 5 watts of energy.
Especially in a refrigerator where its only illuminated when the door is open, the bulb could very well outlast the fridge.
Its estimated cost of operation per year is only 60 cents with three hours usage a day.
I seriously doubt our light is on more than 20 minutes a day which would make the yearly energy cost just under 7 cents...yes, yearly for our useage.
It can also be used as a regular light bulb in a lamp and is dimmable
