The boot where the two ring clamps are have some expansion capability. It has been a year, but if I remember correctly, used some silicon or plumbers grease to help. Also, if you go to the manufacturer’s website, it notes the connection capability.. Doing the PVC to PVC was much easier. The cast iron side was horrible as I tried to hand sand all the corrosion off. I watched the couplings for several days before covering the whole up. There are other boots at Home Depot, but with only one clamp at each end. I paid extra for the extra clamps and steel center ring. If these didn’t work, I would have returned them to HD and got the single clamps.
No.
Fernco donuts work off of compression, therefore your dimensions need to be very specific and within 1/8" or else the product will fail. Please contact Fernco Customer Service with your specific application details, 800-521-1283.
Yes, PVC and ABS have the same dimensions.
Yes, I used ABS line. I had to use a press to install it into the insert with a water and soap solution.
Please contact Fernco customer service for further part information.
I believe another coupling is made for that pipe. Look at Fernco's engineering specifications page to find the correct product.
Thoroughly clean the interior of the bell into which you are installing this, place the donut inside the bell and be sure it is seated to the shoulder of the donut, measure from bottom of shoulder to bottom of inside of donut and transfer this measurement to a mark on your PVC pipe, grease inside of donut with appropriate lube, bevel the end of your PVC to a gradual end, about a 30 degree angle but not a long bevel, generously lube the end at bevel with appropriate grease, place beveled end of pipe into previously installed donut and force into same until you feel it hit bottom and previously marked point is approximately even with shoulder of donut. If you have difficulty getting the PVC to seat properly a bar for prying or a sledge hammer for striking may be used on the end of the PVC pipe with a block of wood over that end to protect it. I believe if you search on Youtube they will have a clip of this procedure. Hope this helps someone.

No, we do not recommend any type of silicon or sealer.
