Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good. Not much of a window unit fan but this was the most cost efficient option to cool... So far so good. Not much of a window unit fan but this was the most cost efficient option to cool my 36x60 garage. Garage is well insulated with a 10 ft insulated ceiling. This past weekend was stupid hot with humidity off the scale. With the thermostat set at 76F after a few hours during the heat of the day the unit cycled off!! I was amazed. I had 2 vehicle projects I was working on that in no way could I have lasted without the A/C. I did use a couple of fans to circulate around the shop but overall very comfortable. Taking a walk outside make me appreciate it more. A word on installation. Make sure you properly install the enclosed braces so that they will carry the weight. This thing IS HEAVY. I bought an extra brace but took it back as it would not work with my application. So far the supplied braces work fine. After one weekend of extreme heat and humidity I am well satisfied. Only had it in a couple of weeks - More time will tell.

Along with another air conditioner located at the other end of my shop, that measures 40’x64’ with 14’ ceiling, we are very pleased with the performance of the new 28000 BTU air conditioner . I can actually feel the air moving from the new unit from 50’ away ! The other unit is a 25000 BTU Frigidair

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Frigidaire 28,000 BTU 230-Volt Window-Mounted Heavy-Duty Air Conditioner with Temperature Sensing Remote Control is better than I expected. I had to change to #10 electrical wires, the plug in receptacle to match this cord and changed to a 30 amp breaker to meet the electrical requirements and it runs perfectly. I replaced a 25,000 BTU with this one and this is quieter and restarts easier, no loud humming from this unit when starting, restarting or when in high fan speed I'm very happy about that. This is rated to Dehumidify - Pints/Hr.: 9.5 and The "Cool" circuit has an automatic 3 minute time delayed start if the unit is turned off and on quickly. This prevents overheating of the compressor and possible circuit breaker tripping. The fan will continue to run during this time. I would highly recommend this Air Conditioner!

I use it in my 1000 sq/ft garage and it will get it from 77 to 69 in about 20 minutes. It is probably overkill for the application but I would do the same over again. I should have bought this years ago. I happened to have a 240V outlet right next the window where it was installed but I had to change the outlet and the breaker because this takes a dedicated 30amp 240 volt circuit.

The timer is useless....every time the timer turns the AC unit off it goes to default settings when comes back on. Example: We don't want the econo mode, every time the unit comes on, econo mode starts. No way to tell it not to do this. So, for an AC unit to use on any type of timer while you're away, this one isn't it. Stuck with it now, but will do better research next time on my part.

I can't believe the features, it cools 1200 sq feet in minutes. my only issue is my husband will set it for really low temps and can freeze us out. glad I bought it also cost less than old bessy

It's not as noisy as the last one but I do raise the volume on the tv when it comes on. It's been cloudy with rain everyday so I have it set on 75° and it's been comfortable in a 15x50 room. I would recomend this product to anyone looking for an air conditioner for a large area.

Put unit in the window and it blew lukewarm air. Called Frigidaire and it’ll take 2 weeks to have someone come out to look at it. Returned unit on Friday. Overall big waste of $. Spend the extra $ and get mini splits.
