Can this be used with 6 awg wire? Specification indicates #8 max which seems inappropriate for many wire types @ 50A

Asked by: Olesam
Thank you for your question. The correct specification is 8 - 3 AWG. We will work to correct this and appreciate your notification.

Can this be used with UF-b 6/3 cable running underground to a 120/240 service panel in an outbuilding?

I have an existing GE breaker panel and want to feed a subpanel in another building using buried cable. My understanding is that the NEC requires the underground cable be protected by a GFCI breaker. I am trying to locate the correct breaker to install in my existing panel. I am looking for a breaker in the 50 - 60 amp range.
Asked by: Dwight
Yes if you have a GE box or a compatible box

It's over 15 miles down out of the mountains to the closest Home Depot. My bad?? When I go to install the breaker I find the package has very skillfully been opened and the product has marks showing installation or at least an attempt!! Then it has been repackaged as new. The packages are kept on a non-reversible spiral holder in the store. Seems a good idea but.. only a HD employee could have loaded that hook?? HD quickly and courteously replaced the product following the extra trip and lost time. Kudos....but I wonder where that circuit breaker is now? The employee said back to the vendor! Most vendors wouldn't risk their reputation by repackaging as new. Too expensive to test and resell as a second. Caveat emptor is still alive....buyer beware. What a system of blame passing!
