      Doesn’t fit.
The back of the fridge says to get an IM4D ice maker. And while the plug does indeed connect, the screw holes do not line up and there’s no way to attach the ice maker. Then I read in the owners manual “does not work with S/S models”. Does that mean side by side? If it does, why would you have the connectors and water line and brackets but yet no ability to connect anything to them?

        Best Icemaker Ever Used
We were fortunate to use this while staying at a Residence Inn for a few weeks. As heavy ice water drinkers this was able to keep up with our consumption with no problem. Our personal door ice maker struggled and often failed. This is a work horse!! Eleven stars ⭐️

It makes ice like it's supposed to but it doesn't always shut off when the tray is full. I have to keep an eye on it or I end up with ice all over the freezer. This is the first icemaker I've ever owned that's given me trouble like this.

The engineers at GE really thought this product through. This GE unit is compatible with many GE, Hotpoint and Haier refrigerators. We installed the IM4D Ice Maker in a Haier refrigerator that was "Ice Maker Ready" and found that this GE unit is what the manufacturer recommended. The engineering coordination between GE and the refrigerator manufacturer was obvious and made the installation a breeze. The kit comes with everything: the Icemaker itself, the fill cup, fill tubes for all compatible refrigerators, all the screws, clamps and fittings and a water valve with the plumbing already attached. All the connectors in the refrigerator for the ice maker and the water valve were in the right place and mated perfectly. The wire lengths were all perfect. In general, truly Plug and Play in a literal sense. The included instructions are, of course, aimed primarily at GE refrigerator owners, but combining the Haier instructions and the IM4D installation guide led to an error free, quick installation. The box indicates a 20 minute install and that's not too far off the experience we had. It took only 15 minutes to install the Ice maker itself in the freezer compartment. The water valve install took another 20 minutes since the water valve mount in our Haier unit required pre-drilling a pilot hole in a metal panel behind the outer metal wrap. This may well not be needed in other manufacturer's fridges..The whole project was completed and the unit was operational in less than an hour. It took a couple hours before the freezer compartment was cold enough to make any ice, but once it did, it's worked flawlessly. The key to getting this install right is reading and re-reading both the IM4D instructions, the refrigerator manufacturer's instructions and the labels posted on the back of the refrigerator (which don't make sense until you read the IM4D instructions). A case in point is the Fill Tube, where the IM4D instructions point to the model # to determine the correct one. With another manufacturer's refrigerator, like ours, that can (and almost did) lead to the selection of the wrong one. The labels on the back of our Haier refrigerator specifically identified the correct IM4D fill tube which worked perfectly. We could not be happier with the performance of this unit. I highly recommend it.

I purchased this to use in the GE GBE21DSKSS fridge. This is the ice maker that is specified in the product data for that particular fridge. It appears the water spout in the fridge does not line up with the fill cup for this ice maker. Please provide a solution or refund for this issue. At the moment we are not able to use the ice maker.

          Hello Andrew,
Thank you for your review. We regret to hear of your frustration. Both the IM4D icemaker kit and the GBE21DSKSS come with a fill cup. In order for proper installation of the IM4D icemaker and connection to the fill tube, the fill cup that comes with the refrigerator must be used, not the fill cup that comes with the IM4D icemaker. Instructions are on page 12 of the installs. Thank you for the feedback. LISAatGEA GE_Appliances

Works… best i can say about it.
Makes a whole 24 ice cubes per day… so as long as your needs do not exceed one cube per hour, i guess you are ok. If, on the other hand you actually want ice in your glasses for a sit down at the table dinner, better go buy a bag of ice.

Hello there - We're sorry to hear that your ice maker is not producing many ice cubes. We understand how frustrating this must be. Home depot delivery installed ice maker incorrectly. Bent the line and installed wrong fill tube. Had to redo myself. That's what happens when you hire people who don't speak or apparently don't read english.
