Q:Will this 24-Hole grounding bar kit match up with the pre-drilled holes in a 200 Amp Powermark Gold 40 Space 40 Circuit load center panel ??

Answer This Question

A:  The center-to-center distance between the mounting holes for the TGK24CP 24-hole grounding bar (where only 22 of the holes are usable for wires) is 9-3/4". The overall length of the bar is 10-7/16". The bar cross section is 1/2" x 1/2".

Q:What type grounding lug is used with this bar? I need to connect 2/0 aluminum wire to it.

Answer This Question

A:  Use the TLK20CP ground lug kit. It will >>JUST<< fit a 2/0 cable if the strands are perfectly arranged. Note that the more common TGL20CP ground lug kit does NOT fit this bar. Using the TLK20CP lug, will cost you 2 or 3 wire positions on the bar.

A:  Sorry, I mean, what grounding lug do I buy to attach to this bar that will accept a 2/0 aluminum wire. This will be used in a GE 40/80 panel that will be a sub panel. I need to connect the separate 2/0 aluminum ground wire that is required. Neutral and ground will be isolated from each other in this panel.

A:  This bar is attached inside the main fuse panel. It is designed for use with 14 and 12 gauge wire. The holes may also be large enough to use 10 gauge wire but I have not done so yet to confirm.

A:  Thank you for your question. The center to center mounting hole measurement for the TGK4CP is 3 inches.

Q:Something doesn't add up. The picture shows only 22 grounding holes with screws. The other two holes are only for mounting. But it is advertised as a 24-hole grounding bar. Right?

      Answer This Question

A:  You are correct, for any GE/ABB ground bar longer than the TGK12CP (12 position) bar, they stiff you by 2 holes, lumping the mounting holes in with the wiring holes. Deceptive advertising in my opinion.

A:  Yes, there are 24 holes as advertised which leaves you 22 positions left for terminations after mounting the bar. Hope this helps.

      by|Nov 10, 2018

A:  Interesting, I had not really counted them but if they said 24 holes and there are 24 holes....... I have not needed all of the holes so it has not been an issue. And yes, there should be 2 mounting holes to attach it to the panel or sub panel box as needed. But as a grounding bar it works great in my box.

I wasn't sure about my panel model and took a chance this bar would fit. It fit perfectly. I needed to un-bond the ground/neutral in the subpanel to bring it up to NEC code. I'm pleased with the fit and quality of the buss and the price and shipping was the best I could find any where.

Nice to have plenty of spaces to tie in grounds rather than having to double up. Added the GE ground block to connect my incoming ground. So far, everything is good.
