where would I use this product?

Answer

Hi DIYer07, If you have a 125 amp subpanel in your mobile home and 200 amps are powering it, then you'd need to change it to a 200 amp inside to keep things consistent. Depending on how many spaces the mobile home requires will determine how many you'll need. Add up the amount of lights, outlets, and appliances needed to power up everything. This will determine how many spaces you'd need. Since there are more than one type of 200 amp panel out there, you'll need to find out how much you need without overloading everything. Once you do this, you can purchase the panel sold at your local Home Depot, but I'd strongly recommend that you get an electrician to install it. Mainly due to the fact that a local professional electrician will need to run larger wire to power up the new panel, as well as know codes so that it can safely be installed. Since you are upgrading, you will most likely will get the power company to come out. That also involves typically them requiring you to pass an inspection, which is where a pro electrician comes in to assist you. This is why having an electrician involved is crucial for not only getting the job done right, but for your own safety. Joseph

There is an error in this circuit breaker listing. It is listed as a 4" main for use in PowerMark Gold load centers. I purchased a TLM1620CCU, a 200 amp load center, but needed to add the smaller 125 amp main. Prior to purchase, there is very little support to select the correct main breaker for these panels. This breaker is the only 4" 125amp GE main breaker available on-line so I bought it. It installed into the load center okay but does not align with the front panel opening. Also since it is a 2" breaker and not a 4" breaker, I would have assumed that a 2" filler plate would have been provided with the breaker kit but there was none. I can't find an e-mail address at HD to notify someone of the error. My panel states it would accept the THQMV125xx main breaker but there is no way to order it on-line from HD. Seems I've been left to figure it out for my self. I'm not an electrician by trade but am an EE and have specified parts for a few electrical installs so I'm not totally stupid.
