A: Sam, you need to use stainless steel decking screws made for composite decking, the threaded portion is cut differently and they have smaller heads. I dont know what brand of decking your using but it might be the type that uses clips inside the grooves at sides of the decking, they get screwed down instead of the deck boards themselves. Check the manufacturer of your composite decking for the proper procedure to install it.
A: I would not use these for installing cabinets because the shape of the head could allow it to pull through. For cabinets, you would want a screw that has a washer/wafer head. I'm sure GRK makes some. I like to use Spax #10 3-inch washer head screws.
