About This Product

GRKs R4 Multi-Purpose Framing Screw has 6 self-contained cutting pockets which act like a router and transport the drill dust away from the edge of the screw hole. They also widen the countersink hole only around the head shape. The screw head top closes the hole exactly, leaving no damaged fibers around the wider area of the head.

Q:No warranty, for how much they are. Seems like the manufacturer isn’t real confident in all the bells and whistles. Most cheap screws give some kind of warranty, your stuck with these it looks like.

A:  I completely understand your concern, but sometimes companies don’t offer a warranty because you don’t need one. Out of the many screw types I have used, these are the best. They are a great balance of features. Definitely try them out!

A:  Thank you for contacting us. There is a condensed statement regarding the warranty on the backside of the tub, just above the GRK website and UPC barcode. The full terms and conditions would be on the GRK website. Please feel free to call us at (800) 222-6990 or email us at grk@itwbrands.com with any questions.

Q:Are these approved for ,60 below grade treated wood ? I used these in a deck I did using .60 and came back a few months later to change a couple boards and they were already rusting and about half broke when taking out.

Q:Can these be used to secure a 6x6 deck post to the concrete bracket? Bracket has 6 holes on both sides, so it would be 12 of these nails securing the post to the bracket. can these be used for that?

My favorate spluge as a handyman!
Simply stated, these are great screws! They hold well, are very weather resistant and the heads don’t strip out like so many of the cheaper alternatives. I have had a lot of other screws that break when you try to remove them after a few months or years and these don’t. This means that you can save money by pulling them out and reusing them! These also have a very effective self tapping mechanism that partially drills its own hole resulting in far less wood cracking. You will still have to drill occasionally depending on your wood but i have found that running the screw half way in, backing it out a little to clear the wood shavings in the hole, then running it all the way in almost entirely eliminates cracking. I buy the small packs to keep in my screw drawer and the big pask to refill them. Great priduct!

Worked great throughout treated 4x4’s. Unlike a deck screw, these powered through, didn’t break or have the heads strip.

                Well worth the money!
I'll never use regular Phillips head screws again. The quality of this GRK brand fasteners is amazing! No pre-drilling necessary and it never splits wood. Screws never break or bend during installation with an impact driver. Screws don't strip or rust

Excellent product, pricey but well worth the money
I've been using this GRK brand for many years already. Never had a problem with any of the products. No pre-drilling necessary and it won't split the wood. I've been using them on both, interior and exterior projects. Pressure treated Decking, indoor framing, door and window installation and many more. Strong hold on every application and won't rust. Drives in easily.and doesn't strip.

The absolute best screw for structural framing. The self starter tip will eat into pine easy and the star bit imprint is deep so that the star bit will not strip it out. Great for impact guns. Nearly a 1000 lb sheer force with the screw. You can’t go wrong if you build it strong. Get these to do it right.

Not sure why everyone loves them.
Using these for screwing down Advantech subfloor and these screws are NOT self starting. Almost all of them gave me a very hard time starting. I think it may be an issue with the batch because the picture of where the self starting part is does not match the screws I have. The self starting slot is too high on the screws I have so they just don't

NOT suitable for exterior. Mine are all rusting.
25 months ago, in NY, I constructed in PT lumber some outdoor stairs. Removing stairs now and here are the first 14 (not cherry-picked) screws. This is 25 months. 1/14 shows no sign of corrosion. 13/14 showing corrosion, one with severe (threads already starting to "melt"). Note I used GRK from two batches; it was not a bad lot. Hugely disappointed. Will continue using the screws I have only for interior shelving, basement framing, etc. Absolutely not up to the task outdoors.
