These garden hose reels are a true life saver. Simply pull hose to the desired length. The Hose Reel will stop and lock in place allowing you to water at a specific length. Once done, simply give the hose a gentle tug and the hose reel will retract all the way back in. No need to worry about the hose tangling inside the reel. With its guidance system, the hose will roll up perfectly every time. The Gartenkraft NW Series also comes with a patented slow rewind system. So, when you are ready for the hose to retract in. Simply drop the hose and the slow rewind system will retract hose at a slow speed which allows for a comfortable safe rewind. Most systems will retract at high rates of speed which can destroy things in the path on the way in. The Gartenkraft NW Series also uses FITT Italian imported hose. The mounting system allows the unit to swivel 180°. Its also a quick release mounting system so simply lift on handle to remove for storage. Multipurpose Spray Nozzle comes with the system.

I reviewed many of these hose reels prior to selecting this one. So far it has performed very well. I use this for the spigots that are in my garage. They are right next to the access door to the house and having a conventional hose there was simply a nightmare. I would agree with other reviewers that the mounting bracket, being wider than a single wall stud makes the installation a little bit more challenging if you are mounting to siding or in my case drywall. I had to first mount wood blocks to the wall and then mount this to the blocks. This doesn't detract from the overall quality of the product, you just need to be a little creative if you are not mounting to a brick wall. The lag bolts provided are large and help for a very sturdy set up. I'm going to purchase another one of these for my back yard. Dealing with hoses and conventional hose reels was a major nuisance for me and this unit has solved all of those problems.

easy to install just about anywhere, I have use it few weeks, every days, it works beautifully, the fact that it rotates makes it so easy to use, no more fighting with tangled hose, I follow the directions and it retract nicely, the best investment I ever made for a garden hose.

The automatic guide works <50%. What is happening is when trying to retract the hose it "stacks" on top of itself and wedges into the inside of the casing....preenting the hose from fully retracting (5 feet hanging out).
