I suppose the answer depends on what you are doing. I keep one side open and connected to an electronic water timer which runs drip hoses in 4 areas of my garden. I keep the other side closed and connected to an ordinary garden hose.
I have had four of these for over two years and have been totally happy with them Larger handle and kink proof hose work great have used these at work everyday for more than two years, far exceed any other valve that I have used for the last 15 years, if there is a leak you may need the hose tightening going into the valve.
Would suggest if it’s a new product, purchased at Home Depot just return it to the store for a new one. If not just purchase a new one. Good luck.
I do exactly what you want to do in my garden. I have not noticed a problem. My electronic timer is connected to drip irrigation lines. I use pressure regulators (20-30 psi) on the drip lines, so they drip water at the correct rate. This may help balance the pressure.
China, of course. It would be nice if the web site gave that information for everything that they sell.
I have had to cut off 2 of these with bolt cutters.
I have one of these and love it. It's bigger than most splitters to allow using a larger ball valve which doesn't restrict the flow. The inside diameter is the same as the hose you're attaching to it. Much better than a standard splitter.
Had no trouble with screwing on a hose but definitely has a leak problem at the valve. I've tried and tried to tighten the screw at the shut-off valve but it leaks constantly. Going to return to HD immediately
orifice opening roughly twice the diameter of standard adapters
