A:  We would not recommend these screws for this application. We would recommend SKU 205890. https://www.homedepot.com/p/GRK-Fasteners-8-in-x-1-1-4-in-Cabinet-Screw-100-per-Pack-114069/203556408

Q:Would these work for Clipstone Manufactured Stone? Clipstone recommends a #8 x 1 or 1-1/4 wafer head galvanized screw. I will be attaching to 1/2 plywood and they will be used on the interior, not exterior of the house.

        Answer This Question

A:  I think they should. They are made for "nailing" steel 2x4s together. I use these for hanging vinyl siding to an aluminum sided mobile home. The Clipstone website shows a "common" screw that looks just like the Truss Head Screw. These screws come with a special Philips bit. You can make your own special bit by grinding or filing off the tip of a normal Philips bit, just match it up to the one in the box. The bit needs to seat into the screw, no wobble.
