These are a great length for fastening thin material into dimensional lumber. Phillips head screws are a waste of time, star drive is the way to go with no worry of stripping. I used to buy small boxes of these but I have since learned to get the biggest one available knowing I'll get through them soon enough.

I love these screws for just about any project I have needed them on. While pre-drilling is always a good practice, the drill tips on these screws works great if I'm feeling lazy. I also like that they come with a bit in the package so I don't have to go looking for one when I need it.
