A: We did not count the nails in the boxes, we purchased. We purchased I think 3 or 4 boxes we had some nails left over from another job. We had to install about 150 joist and stringer joist hangers The code of Georgia requires joist hanger nails and several new decks that we built they passed inspection.

A: It says on the one pound box that there are 121 nails per box; not 125. Also the description of 12 penny is incorrect, because a 1 1/2 inch nail is a 4 penny nail. Penny only refers to the length of the nail, and a 4 penny nail is 1 1/2 inches long. A 10 penny nail is 3 inches long, which is what is needed for the side nails on these joist hangers. Also, the 9 gauge description on the box refers to a diameter of .148 inches, or 5/32 inch, which is different from the 10 which is clearly stamped on the nail head itself. The 10 is probably correct, which would make the actual diameter of the nails smaller than labeled, because a 10 gauge nail is only .135 inches in diameter, not .148 inch as labeled.
