About This Product

The CMBE Booster is designed for domestic and commercial water supply, pressure boosting, irrigation and dewatering applications. The CMBE series uses energy efficient, permanent magnet motor technology, which provides unmatched reliability, quiet operation, and energy savings. Thanks to the integrated speed controller, the CMBE keeps a constant pressure in the pipe system. A pressure sensor monitoring discharge pressure will signal to the speed controller to change the motor speed to adapt the performance to the new situation.

Q:I have a 2 bath, one kitchen, 2500 sqft. home. I have a passive, unpressurized 280 gal. storage tank to supply my house, I need to take water from the storage tank to create the main water supply to my house. I have an 88 gal bladder pressure tank as well

Answer This Question

A:  I am sorry but you did not ask a question. Let me assume you are asking if this product could be used for your application. Yes, it could. The CMBE is a great product, but I would be remiss if I did not mention that because you have a diaphragm tank already you could also accomplish the same thing by using your tank in conjunction with a jet pump and pressure switch.

Q:My water volume is 8.5 gpm, pressure fluctuates from 38-42 psi. Would this pump be a good choice for boosting and maintaining pressure an additional 20-25 psi with the available 8.5 gpm? ( 3/2 single story home for a family of 4) Thank You

    Answer This Question

A:  I am confused. Your flow rate is within the normal residential range 8-14 GPM and your pressure is also within the normal range of 40-60 PSI. If you bump it by 20 to 25 PSI you would technically supposed to install a pressure reducing valve to bring it down below 60. Therefore, I am curious to know what problem or symptom you are looking to correct. This is a fanatic pump, and it will raise the pressure but as pressure is invisible you won’t notice the difference so I would like to understand the goal before you spend a lot of money. Keep in mind that water pressure is about lifting water. One PSI lifts water 2.3 feet vertically. Therefore 38 PSI will lift a water column 87’ straight up. Unless your home was a few more stories the problem is not clear to me. Chris 978 651 3301

Q:If my house needs both pressure corrected with a pump and water supply corrected with storage, what is a recommended setup to accomplish this?

      Answer This Question

A:  To make a thoughtful recommendation you will need the following information. What is the base line water pressure? 40-60 PSI is normal. What is the base line water supply? 8-14 gallons per minute is normal. What pressure, supply rates and for what run time do you want to achieve? With this information it becomes a simple math problem. You size a pump, you size a storage vessel to create a system.

        Answer This Question

A:  I am sorry I can’t give you a definitive answer on that as it would depend on what else is on the circuit, the length of the circuit and the electrical code in your state. For a definitive answer you would need to speak to a qualified local licensed electrician or the electrical inspector in you town.

          So Quiet
Using to pump fresh well water from a 550 gallon holding tank into a two bath single story home. Replacing an older style 220v pump with an integrated pressure tank. The Grundfos 1-44 was installed inside the shed that houses the holding tank. Handles the job extremely well and does so without any noise detectable inside the home. Pressure at the faucets is immediate and is consistent without any fluctuation. Pressure is user adjustable with simple up/down buttons. Excellent pump for me.

Very easy to install. Powerfull and very quiet. Installed it a month ago and has been working excellent. Incoming city water pressure to our house is very low, 28-30 PSI. I set this pump to boost it to 75 PSI. It is remarkable that how smoothly this pump operates. Highly recommended.

It may be excellent, im not sure, only had for a month, but my pressure is great. Its noisy, but unless your water line is in your living room you shouldnt notice. Prefer to have its own electrical outlet, not sure if that would be a problem for anyone. Mine is located right next to main breaker box so was very easy.

It is working wonderfully. Being able to see and set it for the power is wonderful. The plumber who installed it said it was easy to install and that he was going to recommend that his company use this one in the future.

This is a fine, quiet, powerful pump. However, it absolutely cannot draw against low water levels--not "self-priming" - - and therefore was unusable for my application. It would, in fact, spin against vacuum until hot to the touch without ever drawing water. If supply is steady, though, it works great. Replaced with a scala2 and am much happier.
