Q:What kind of Shunt? How to find out which line are Nuetrals or Line (hot) that come out of Ballast. Halco video is totally useless, too short! Why Hurry?

      Answer This Question

A:  There is a diagram on the tube.  On one end of the tube both pins are line (+), and on the other end both pins are neutral (-).

A:  Wire one end of the fixture to white the other to black. Cut the wires close to the ballast and you should have enough line to wire to the supply lines.

A:  You don’t need to use the ballast. Take it out and throw it away. Just wire the wires that are coming out of the bulb holders directly into hot and neutral wires from switch.

            Installation was easy peezy
1st picture shows flourecent vs LED color difference, taken before I changed out the one on the left. After you rewire, it doesn't matter which direction you install the tube. I actually tested it and flipped one tube around and the bulb still came on. This bulb design just needs one end of the fixture to be neutral and the other hot. 2nd picture taken half way through install (with power off), in case it helps anyone. Both yellow wires went to neutral. All four red and blues went to hot.

              These are poorly designed
These lights constantly sag and the weighted side with the electrical components spin in the fixture and end up down in the light fixture. Shining the light up into the fixture. It takes a few days to a few weeks for it to happen but the fixtures end up spinning because of the weight of the electrical components

A car accident took out a power line causing a power spike to a local business. All of their lights were flickering (LED tubes) but three lights in the kitchen got fried.... LED strips running off an electronic module. My suggestion to the business owner was to convert these to conventional 4' fluorescent fixtures and ballast bypass LED tubes. This eliminates the possibility of an entire $80 fixture getting fried... only the tubes would be susceptible. I bought three fixtures at HD and paired them with this tube. I completely removed the ballasts and wired one end hot and one neutral. These tubes worked out great. There's a wiring schematic on one end. NOTE: I have used other ballast bypass LED tubes that have both hot and neutral on one end (the opposite end is a dummy and acts as a mechanical holder only). Be sure to wire both ends of the fixture when using this tube.

Installed these in our laundry room, the wife loves them. very easy to re-wire fixture, only took me less than 10 minutes. They are not a blue as the fluorescents I took out, which I like. I will be installing these in my garage as well. No more flicker and hum.
