I’m using 1in under ground what other connectors do I need to connect to the riser and what thread is on riser
ByMar 28, 2026
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

The underground end is PE gas pipe, so you will need the matching IPS PE gas coupling to connect it to your roll of poly pipe. The above ground end has male NPT threads for a shutoff valve or transition fitting to black iron pipe or CSST.

Are the risers stainless steel to prevent rusting underground?

    Answer This Question

No. The risers are epoxy coated carbon steel.

When connecting stainless steel to the steel threads of the riser, should we use a dielectric union? Which type of steel is the riser made of?
      ByOct 8, 2024
      1 Answer |
      Answer This Question

The riser is an Anode-less Riser so does not need to have a dielectric union when attaching to stainless steel or black iron etc. The steel is a mild steel (low carbon).

Is there ever a problem with galvanic corrosion if this is used to connect with galvanized steel vs stainless steel connectors? Which is best? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks!
        ByOct 3, 2024
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

There is not an issue with galvanic corrosion when attaching black iron/stainless steel to the metal threaded section of the Riser – Installation should Teflon tape or pipe thread sealant on the threads.

          1. What is the best way to reduce this to 3/4 inch? 2. Also, Is there ever a problem with galvanic corrosion if this is used to connect with galvanized steel vs stainless steel connectors? Which is best? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks!

          Answer This Question

          1. This 2-inch riser can be reduced to 3/4-inch by using a 2-inch to 3/4-inch reducer fitting. Ensure the reducer fitting is compatible with the materials of the riser and the pipe you are connecting to. 2. Galvanic corrosion occurs when two dissimilar metals are in contact in the presence of an electrolyte (like water). Stainless steel connectors are generally preferred over galvanized steel when connecting to a riser to minimize the risk of galvanic corrosion. Using Teflon tape or pipe thread sealant on the threads can also help prevent corrosion. However, there should not be a significant issue with galvanic corrosion when connecting this specific riser to either galvanized steel or stainless steel, as the threaded portion of the riser is designed to be compatible with various types of metallic pipe.

Used for 6 Outlets on New Concrete Patio
I used for 5 outlets that will be built into columns on new concrete patio and 1 at concrete deck level. The product works as stated. It is not cheap, but it was easier to work with than other materials. I.E. cut to length with a single hand tool. Less joints/connections. I did this by myself until it was time to drop my crazy 6 outlet configuration in the trench, at which point I enlisted my wife for assistance. Also used CSST in crawl to get to the patio inlet. As a professional installer I like this set up. I used this product on a project for one of my landscape/outdoor living spaces jobs and it work perfectly the first time. (I have been doing this for 20+ years - first timers and DIYers may have more difficultly and should know ALL codes and requirements of local authorities) My only complaint is the availability of product at all locations or the accuracy of online vs. actual in-stock items. I check online and called to verify stock before travelling to the store and found they did not have what I needed, even though this store had the MOST extensive supply of parts/variety of fittings. this will be the most frustrating part of using this product. The best aspect of this product is the reusable fittings. Other fittings are one-time only / better get it right the 1st time fittings

Hi Mxlflyer, please keep in mind that the cost of this item's testing, certification and on-going standards compliance is a part of the overall cost. This is not an item that we can simply assess its cost based on materials. ValenciaPipe

Works great! the design lends well to reuse as you can just cut off the poly and reattach if it needs to be used again!
