About This Product
The HOME-FLEX Underground 1 1/2 in. anodeless meter riser allows to safely and easily transition from polyethylene pipe to a gas meter. Male iron pipe (MIP) threads on the metal side for direct connection to the meter. Durable metal construction ensures no damage will occur to pipe above the surface.

I’m using 1in under ground what other connectors do I need to connect to the riser and what thread is on riser
The underground end is PE gas pipe, so you will need the matching IPS PE gas coupling to connect it to your roll of poly pipe. The above ground end has male NPT threads for a shutoff valve or transition fitting to black iron pipe or CSST.
Do I need a licensed plumber to install a new riser and coupler
Are the risers stainless steel to prevent rusting underground?
No. The risers are epoxy coated carbon steel.
When connecting stainless steel to the steel threads of the riser, should we use a dielectric union? Which type of steel is the riser made of?
The riser is an Anode-less Riser so does not need to have a dielectric union when attaching to stainless steel or black iron etc. The steel is a mild steel (low carbon).
Is there ever a problem with galvanic corrosion if this is used to connect with galvanized steel vs stainless steel connectors? Which is best? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks!
There is not an issue with galvanic corrosion when attaching black iron/stainless steel to the metal threaded section of the Riser – Installation should Teflon tape or pipe thread sealant on the threads.

1. This 2-inch riser can be reduced to 3/4-inch by using a 2-inch to 3/4-inch reducer fitting. Ensure the reducer fitting is compatible with the materials of the riser and the pipe you are connecting to. 2. Stainless steel connectors are generally preferred over galvanized steel when connecting to a riser to minimize the risk of galvanic corrosion.
