    A:  Yes, stiffeners are included.  Although one of the packages I bought initially for store pickup was opened (had obviously been returned) and one of the stiffeners was missing so had to return for an unopened package with both stiffeners.

        Q:According to your instructions, there is an O ring on the end of the spacer. My 90 degree coupler doesn't have separate O rings. Are they rubber rings? My installation fails the pressure leak check..

          A:  It appears that the fittings are compression type so if you are having leaks it is probably a dirty joint or an incorrectly tightened joint. Gas leaks are hard to find but I have found that Big Blue Micro Leak detector is much better than using soapy water. It is a gel type product that doesn't evaporate as quickly as water soap mix. Hope this helps. ET PS try to test with dry nitrogen or compressed air. I have used both but have found that my 20V Max Cordless Tire Inflator works best.

            A:  Hi, Dale - All of our HomeFlex Underground Fittings are approved by NFPA, ICC, IAPMO, and UPC as shown in our Design & Installation Manual at HomeFlex.com. However, we have heard on some rare occasions where a local propane company won't allow their use. Our polypipe is o.k. but fittings are not. As far as we've determined, this is because the propane company may own the equipment and wants to sell and/or use only their own fittings. Since the poly pipe is made to specific dimensional and materials standards, fittings from other companies will work fine on our pipe.

                  I really hate to bash a company in reviews. I consider myself pretty handy. This coupler is absolute junk. I exchanged two of the straight couplers and one 90 degree. Out of those five, one was able to hold pressure. The rest had leaks. I am not sure why these are being sold. They are an accident waiting to happen.

                  Hi, Jimmy - This is exceedingly unusual. Even more so in that you had several instances where our fittings would not hold pressure. In those rare occasions where leaks have occurred, it's usually because 1) the fitting was not clean. Sand, plastic saw dust from cutting the pipe with a saw, or any other kind of grit is detrimental to the sealing of the product; 2) stiffeners were not used; 3) there is a scratch or gouge in the PE pipe going into the fitting; 4) pipe going in or out of the fitting is stressed by being installed on a radius; 5) the pipe and the fittings are a different dimension ratio (SDR or DR).
