Answer This Question
A: Not sure if this size will work for you. The national Gas Code has a chart that will help you size the line size (Diameter) based on the fuel requirements your devise will use and the run distance of the line.

A: Hi, Rocky - Suggest you consult with the Home-Flex Underground Design & Installation Manual to fully answer the question. The guide is available for download at homeflex.com/resources/underground. You'd need to know the total btu/h for all gas appliances on the line, the capability of the meter, as well as the length of run. Generally speaking and based on experience, we can say that 1-1/4" sounds reasonable for your installation. Best to go through the estimating process, however.

Q:Is the Home Flex gas line riser coating ok to encase in concrete as long as no connections are encased in concrete and are accessable outside concrete

Answer This Question
A: Hi, Hooter. You'll want to make sure you protect the metal sleeve against direct contact with wet concrete. Most use a PVC coupler to slide over the area of the riser that will touch the wet concrete. Please refer to the Underground Design & Installation Manual available at homeflex.com/resources. Thanks.

A: Hi, Jeff - Because this review is on line for all to see and is subject to certain current conditions, we suggest you call our Customer Service Department at (661) 257-3923 x 1026 (Dave) or x 1010 (Jon) M-F 8a-5p Pacific time to discuss. In this particular case at this time, we have inventory of the 1.5" meter riser but there is apparently a glitch on HD's side that we're currently addressing to once again make it available for purchase on hd.com.

Answer This Question
A: Hi, Kyle - Yes we do make a 1 1/2" meter riser, but they're current "unavailable" on homedepot.com until their distribution centers receive current in-bound orders. They can, however, be special ordered at your local store in the meantime. Sorry for the inconvenience. Call me (Dave) if you need assistance. (661) 257-3923 x 1026 M-F 7:30a - 2p Pacific Time. Thanks.

As a professional installer I like this set up. I used this product on a project for one of my landscape/outdoor living spaces jobs and it work perfectly the first time. (I have been doing this for 20+ years - first timers and DIYers may have more difficultly and should know ALL codes and requirements of local authorities)
My only complaint is the availability of product at all locations or the accuracy of online vs. actual in-stock items. I check online and called to verify stock before travelling to the store and found they did not have what I needed, even though this store had the MOST extensive supply of parts/variety of fittings. this will be the most frustrating part of using this product.
The best aspect of this product is the reusable fittings. Other fittings are one-time only / better get it right the 1st time fittings

Hi Mxlflyer, please keep in mind that the cost of this item's testing, certification and on-going standards compliance is a part of the overall cost. This is not an item that we can simply assess its cost based on materials.
