What is the length of the cover?
Is the Aged Bronze color similar to Oil Rubbed Bronze?
It really depends on your expectation of the finish. Every company seems to have a different interpretation of Oil Rubbed Bronze. Our Aged Bronze is a dark brown finish with brush marks on the edge to remove streaks to expose copper underneath.
How deep is the recess on this product I need 3/8 in deep
The recess in the back is no more than 0.15 inches, so it won't meet your minimum. Keep in mind, the wallplates are designed to cover electrical devices and the recess you mention will be quite far and create a gap between the switch or outlet and the wallplate.
Can these be painted
Hello Kathy- these wallplates are painted white, so you can consult with the paint department on the best way to paint them, but using a primer would be less risk.
Can I instal these onto the existing outlet without installing a brand new outlet?

What is the warranty on these plates? I an concerned about the finish wearing off. Even the new plate in a sealed package already showing black at the corners.
The finish should not wear-off under normal use. These are painted and it holds up well.
Will these get surface rust if used in a bathroom?
No I've had them in kitchen and bathroom for over 2 years no rust still look brand new

I used mine in a kitchen and no rust. No sure about bathroom just make sure you have good ventilation.
Hi Debb! The Ascher wallplates have a clear lacquer coating to protect the finish so it should hold-up fine, unless you have a super steamy room with no ventilation where a different material would be more appropriate.
