A: Your concern should be with the weight of your TV. If you use two of these toggles, your rated load would be 140 lbs in 1/2" drywall - much more than needed for a 20 lb. flat screen TV. - I'd do it. Another option would be to use Moen secure mounts.
A: Hello Lauren and thank you for your inquiry. These do not require the use of a stud, however we recommend checking with the manufacturer of the TV to see how they recommend mounting the TV.
A: Hello Mark and thank you for your inquiry. The screw is #10 x 2-1/2".
A: You don't need a drill when you are putting these into sheetrock. The tip is sharp enough to cut through when you rotate it back an forth. It is a little hard on your fingers, but just slow down and take your time. Do not force. Do NOT let the strap go 90 degrees. Yes, it is easier to "drill", but the plastic strap will break and render the unit useless. IF you do break one, use it and some pliers to make the holes.
A: I use a 1/2" drill bit, then I tap it through with a hammer.
A: It will tell you to use a 1/2 drill bit.
A: Hi and thank you for your inquiry. You would need a 1/2 dill for this item.
A: Thank you for your interest in Hillman products. We do not recommend using this strap toggle for mounting a 70" wall mount as it is not intended for this use.
A: No. You should find a stud and use large screws or lag bolts for a tv that large
A: Possibly depends on tv
A: I have used them for 65" TVs and they work fine. I think they say they will hold up to 70lbs per unit so that is more than enough if you are using 4 toggles for the mount. The sheet rock will fail before the screws. If you could hit a stud with at least one screw it would probably be a good thing.
A: How much weight is a individual toggle rated at? How many anchor points will you have? (Rated lbs x number of anchor point = total weight it will hold) Is your drywall 5/8"? Check that rating too. I would say it will hold if you have 4 anchor points.
