AnswersThe product description online says that the rug is "made of 100% Heat-Set Polypropylene." I guess that makes it a synthetic. It's very "wool-like" though--but not itchy (I'm allergic to wool, and I can lie on this rug). Hope that's helpful.

The colors in the carpet I received weren't very good. They were faded and not as pretty as the colors in the picture. (The background was more orange-garnet than it was garnet.) And the edges of the design features were blurred. If I didn't have a real need for a carpet when I ordered this, I would have sent this back. What CAN be said for this carpet is that it's inexpensive. (Another reason I didn't send it back was because I had problems with delivery. The weather during the week the rug was to be delivered, was very rainy and snowy. I was told and assured it would be delivered on a Thursday when I was home. It was only at the last minute that I was told the delivery would be switched to Wednesday when I wasn't home. I tried to straighten this out with Home Depot service, and they said --- actually assured me --- they would switch the delivery back to Thursday. It was eventually delivered on Wednesday, and both it and the pad I ordered were wet. These are both indoor items!)

It’s a beautiful rug, but has a flawed darkened area. At first, I thought it was from the rug being rolled up. I live 50 miles away from the store, so decided to keep.
