            Tree down and out
During Hurricane/Tropical storm Nicole we had a tree come down through our fence and onto the house. Thankfully no structural damage, just a steady clean up to get it all cut up. The Homelite went above and beyond to chop the tree up to get it all removed and cleaned up. Only a quarter of the oil was used which was awesome. All I would say it make sure your chain is tight enough, and make sure your cuts are clean so it doesn’t bog down or get stuck.

Chain drive gear and bearing drive shaft mounts are plastic and fail.
Chainsaw works great until the plastic case begins to wallow out around the bearings. Once that happens the drive shaft isn't supported and the metal motor gear will start to slice the teeth off the chain drive gear, which is plastic. This happened to me after light and moderate use (generally cutting green wood and limbs). I was still sharpening the original chain. I'm not new to chainsaws, I own echo and sthil, hand sharpen my chains, always run bar oil, etc. I do not overtension my chains (I could see that being an argument for this sort of damage) - but nope, I maintain my saws, even this thing. I've never seen one built so cheaply. The saw is basically junk when you buy it, but if all you're going to do is cut green limbs <4" diameter, make sure you use a sharp chain and bar oil, and never tension the chain more than to keep it from running off the bar this might last you a full chain. You'll never need to replace the bar! the chainsaw gears will wear out first.

The Easiest Tool to Cut Up a Tool With!
I was sceptical of how good this saw would be at such a low price. DON'T BE!!! This saw is amazingly simple to use and cuts like butter. Right out of the box I knew this would be a good saw. It is well built and super easy to adjust the chain tension on. Just add bar oil and go! I cut up the tree in the pic in an hour. BUY THIS SAW!!!

                    Best bang for buck
I've had this saw for 10yrs now. Thought of buying a longer bar saw or a self sharpening chain version electric saw, but this little thing just keeps cutting. I have used this to cut standing mature pine trees and mainly use it for next to house cut logs into firewood size so don't need pull out a gas saw. This homelite saw has some very nice features. Especially the chain torque tightening crank. No screwdriver notch like most, so it's easy to get chain tight so does fly off. And the clear chain bar oil window allows easy glance see if running out. And it doesn't waste or slop bar oil everywhere unlike my gas saw. And it doesn't have noise smoke pollution spitting out in my face unlike my gas saw. There is no chain break safety feature, why it's only $50, but just put the chain bar end tip back on if have kick back when cutting. If you keep the chain sharpened it will cut just fine. I use a dremel with cheap cylinder grind wheel and hit chain before each day of cutting keeps saw running great doesn't bog down

Light, versatile saw for medium to small projects. On extended pruning project, ran three hours nearly straight without faltering. A surprise was how good the instruction manual is for operational and safety information - worth reading first. Very pleased with this as an occasionally-used household tool. I was particularly pleased with the staff of home depot helping me deal with this saw's predecessor; shoulda selected this saw in the first place!

Homelite....14" Electric Chain saw. I opened the box filled it with powercare chain saw oil, Plugged it in and immediately started to cut down cousin it (a fuzzy looking bush like tree) cousin it was about 10' tall but was no problem for this chain saw it more than met my expectations. I was surprised how little amount of oil it used and still the Bar and Chain were well lubricated I've had it for about three weeks now and for the $$$$ it is an outstanding product. I've cut a few 4 x 4's and a couple of 2 x 6's with no problem this chain saw is a great tool for small household jobs and is a tool that will serve me well for many years.it is well made and easy to adjust and maintain.
