Overall it is kind of cheesy. If it is in fact steel, it is VERY light steel. I doubt it is very "fire resistant". Would probably be easy to smash.
Also the programmable digital lock only has digits 1 to 5, and the code can only be 4 digits long.
That being said, it does meet our needs for now, and at 10 pounds is easy to move.

Thank you for your feedback. Level of fire resistance varies depending upon contents and heat temperatures from fire. It will take some time but it is minimal. There is some insulation on the walls of the box, not the lid, which provides some fire resistance protection. Please know the laptop security box is backed by a 1-year limited warranty.
