      Answer This Question

A:  Yes. If you know what type and color stain was used to stain your table. If it’s a manufacturer table with the veneer outside then matching it my results in mixing different stain colors together to achieve the desired results. I do this with my custom furniture business a lot.

A:  Yes. I only stained the seat portion to match my table top. I painted the remainder to match the legs of the table. Turned out great,

A:  Yes, these unfinished chairs are ready for you to stain. You can use the bottom of the seat to test out stains to see which matches your table the best. You will want to test out stain and topcoat to make sure the finished result is what you want.

A:  Yes, it is painted white with a black glazing. The black glaze catches around the edges and in the wood grain enhancing the wood grain and giving it a gray appearance. Its really beautiful and goes with black, white and gray tables. Zoom in on the photo of the seat.

              Great quality
Sturdy big dining table chairs. I stained them myself. This stain is minwax provincial. After husband put them together I sanded, pre stained, stained, used minwax rubbing polyurethane, light sand, second coat of rubbing polyurethane and done. It was a fun project staining my beautiful chairs. Make sure you sand them first. There were some spots that wouldn’t stain and I’m guessing it from the glue while being assembled at the manufacturers site. You can sand it off though even after staining.

Bought these for my new dining room table. Easy to paint and stain and went together flawlessly. Strong sturdy chair and affordable at that.

                  Wish it came fully unassembled
Overall good quality. Would have been much easier to stain if the chair back wasn't already assembled. Hard to get even strokes where the pieces intersect. Between conditioning, staining, sanding, second coat, sealant, more sanding, more sealant, and the drying times between it all, this was a 4 day project. There was a glue spot on one of the chair backs that made the stain uneven. Assembly instructions concerning attaching the stretchers to the legs are in the wrong order, FYI. Only took a few minutes of trial-and-error to figure out, though. Oh, and the instructions are unclear about what "right" and "left" mean. You'd think it means your right if you were seated in it, but nope, opposite. Again, just FYI. However, I am thrilled with my final result and will not take points off just because I'm being petty about the difficulty of the project. Just passing along my experience in case anyone's on the fence about how much work this project will be. Worth it in the end!

These chairs are wonderful! Easy to put together, very durable, and they take stain and paint beautifully! I originally got 4 for my kitchen and finished to match my refurbished kitchen table. Loved them so much I bought 8 more to go with the large farmhouse table I built for my family.

Beautiful ... if you want to do the work ...
It was A LOT of work to prep and hand paint these chairs, especially in the "X" portion (I used a small art brush), but feeling very proud of how they came out. Perfect for our interior flip 15 yrs post Hurricane Katrina. My process was prep with Kilz2, lightly sand with 180 grit to lift the wood hairs, and then painted with high gloss Macadamia (Glidden Premium Interior/Exterior - teal label - it's the only paint I use), and I did it all with Purdy brushes (the only brushes I use). Then build the chairs. Voila! I'm in agreement with everyone who said not to tighten machine screws or wood screws all the way, until you put the chairs together. You'll need to wiggle and move the legs up or down, so that the seats will place evenly level. Also, I used Titebond II Premium wood glue on the foot rungs. I added small drops of glue to the holes in the legs to put the rungs, and also on the screws before putting into the rungs. The seats on these chairs are ample for anyone! Love the slight saddle feel as you sit on the chairs. Getting used to the X's on the back (I have a tendency to rest back in a chair). Not a deal breaker for the amount of time I sit in a kitchen chair. My final comment is how heavy these chairs are, which makes me very, very happy. After flooding 9' of water in Hurricane Katrina in my house, I learned to invest in good, solid wood - no mdf's here! That is the very reason I purchased to build my own. They are sturdy, heavy, comfortable, and beautifully crafted. You won't be disappointed!!

I hesitantly purchased two set but was immediately impressed with the quality of the pieces. They arrived very well packaged to eliminate damage during shipping. Easy to assemble. I did add wood glue to the stretcher bars but it probably wasn't necessary. One screw hole was not drilled completely but it was an easy fix as I had a drill. I painted the chairs with the exception of the seat which I stained and polyurethaned prior to attaching it to the chair frame. The wood took the stain 'okay', not perfectly but good enough. The chairs are comfortable and sturdy.

Easy to assemble, sturdy, and comfortable. There were some areas that did not take stain well even though I sanded it. Do not sand with anything less than 220 grit.
