Product Details

Tarmac 10 in. x 12 in. Basalt Mosaic Tile will enrich the look of your kitchen or bath. The natural basalt stone mosaic features a combination of thin and wide linear pieces to create an interlocking mosaic. Its honed finish is accented by its dramatic gray color. Perfect for an array of styles, from traditional to modern. Combine with other mosaics and field tiles to create impressive installations. For best installation results, use white polymer-modified thinset.
  • 0.833 square foot per piece, each piece sold individually. Piece weight 3.33 Lbs.
  • Grade 1, first-quality basalt mosaic tile for wall use
  • 10 in. width x 12 in. length x 8 mm thick mesh-mounted mosaic wall tile
  • Unglazed honed finish with uniform- same shade tone variation
  • P.E.I. Rating is not rated for natural stone, glass, metal and or other unglazed products.
  • Non-Vitreous flooring has water absorption of more than 7% for indoor use

    A:  Hopefully you sealed the tiles when you installed them. If not installed yet, make sure to seal the tiles. If sealed, dish wash liquid I warm water and brush gently with a soft bristled brush. If the tiles were not sealed, you can try cleaning this way but the stone is porous and does tend to suck in the grease, so will be more difficult to clean.

      A:  If you haven't installed this in your kitchen I would recommend against it, especially if you have alot of grease flying around. If you have installed this and have grease spots you will need to purchase an item called stone poultice. Follow the directions and it should at least make the grease spots less noticeable, and may even remove them altogether.

        Out of 30 sheets of tile, only two had a single tile glued to the mesh crooked, so the quality was definitely good. A few had blimishes of gold or white flakes here and there, which can either add character or can be filtered out when picking the sheets to add to your cart at the store. Overall great product.

        Even though I sealed it before installing it took on the color of the grout and I tried to get it off and make it look uniformed with no luck yet. It also had a lot of imperfections in the tile right out of the box, 2 cases all tile was stuck to the cardboard packaging

        For the price I paid for this tile you would think the workmanship would be better. Tile pieces were not always properly aligned, some tiles were broke, sloppy gluing on the back.
