how many pieces do I need to get to cover 300 ft and how much

Asked by lori June 27, 2020

Answer

There is no straight forward answer to your question. It depends on the room dimensions and the length the baseboards you buy. Typically, these are sold in 12 ft lengths, but I have also seen 8 and 16 ft lengths. You normally want to avoid more junctions along a wall than necessary. If you purchase 12 ft lengths and your wall is 17 ft, then you'll need 2 pieces, but how long each piece will need to be will depend on where your wall studs are. This is because you will need to have a nail go through the joint and into a stud to make the joint secure. If not, your joint will stand out and will be very unattractive. It is a bit of a puzzle you'll need fo work out on paper. Look for videos online if you don't know how to properly attach baseboards to a wall. A. It's much to explain here.

Will HD cut the board in half for easier transport?

My handyman helped me get it into my truck so no cutting needed. However, if we needed to cut, there is a cutting board available and my handyman can do it himself which he has done for other items we purchased.

Why doesn't HD tell you how long this product is?

It comes in two lengths in the store but you can buy it by the foot. So unless you are buying pre bundled, you can get the length you want by simply cuting a long board to your desired length.

MDF Fake wood
I'm a Painting Contractor and a Master Floor installer by trades growing up, when i became a painter in 1992 working with MDF is the cheap way and it's not great to paint as wood trim. MDF swells up when it get's wet and when sanding it stick's out when painting. A little more money you get a beautiful finish with the primed wood. Floor trade from 1975 to 1982 Painter until 2000 when I became a Painting Contractor and help my clients make the right choice's for there money. Free consultation if I'm on the job Carbajal Custom Painting Santa Cruz County area. Also repair areas damaged
