Kellogg Garden Organics All Natural Planting Mix for Trees, Shrubs and Roses is a 2-in-1 planting mix and mulch recommended for trees, shrubs and flowers. Hello, I am thinking of planting some Double Knock Out Roses using this soil. Would I also need to buy a bag of rose food, or does this bag of soil already have the necessary ingredients? Also, is it possible to use too much of this soil when planting them, or is it safe to use as much as I like in the planting holes? Thank you all very much! I look forward to reading the responses.

Use the rose food after 90 days and mix a 50/50 with your native soil for optimum results.

You can use it around young trees, just not seedlings, most soils with added nutrients are too strong for seedlings

I'm thinking you might need more of a peat product, but not sure - may want to google it.

I live in NC and we have clay soil. Looking to improve the soil and have read all the great reviews. But there was one that really stuck out! We have Bermuda grass and have balding areas on our lawn. In the review they included info regarding a Topper for the grass. I this a product that can be used to improve our grass and help with the balding area of our lawn? Will you be able to elaborate? The review was from LK back in May 3, 2017 - hope to hear from you soon!
Asked by: gardenwoman
No. Aerate the soil (clay) first. Cover areas with peat moss and top soil 50/50. This product has too much mulch in it for grass. It is for trees and shrubs. Bermuda grass will creep into your treated area over time.
