I've had my ice machine for a couple of weeks now. It makes LOTS of ice. However, it came without the necessary water filter. I complained about why it was not installed at the factory while it was being made. KitchenAid sent me one in the mail, no charge. Strangely, it's made by Whirlpool. It is an ICE2 filter number F2WC9I1. Hope that helps.
Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, for questions concerning availability options, please call HD.com customer service at 800-430-3376 any day between 6 a.m to 2 p.m EST. They can answer your question, or transfer you to your local store if needed to answer your question.
I have a KUID308ESS. The ice in the bin slowly melts and drains out the bottom of the machine. There needs to be a 2" PVC pipe stubbed up through the floor, under the machine to catch that dripping water and drain it away. No pump required because it's gravity fed. If you have a drain that is say, in the wall behind the machine, you'll need an ice maker with a pump to get it up there and out. Hope that helps.
Hi Don, for this Ice Maker a drain pump is required. Hopefully this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our KitchenAid appliances!
I bought a Kitchen Aid 18 inch wide, so far it has been great.
Mine are crystal clear.
Good luck with that one! lol I looked around a lot but never found any that cheap. Plus if you did I would not trust it, the old saying you pay for what you get comes to mind. I settled on the 18 inch kitchen aid, watch for them on sale, you can save a couple hundred but still will not get to a grand.
Small square ones, great for tea and drinks but may melt fast for an ice chest.
Bob, yes you can remove the handle.
I'm answering my own question. Now that I have the new one, I was able to swap the handles and keep the same look that matches my other KitchenAid appliances. The handle on the new machine matched exactly the hole pattern of the old one. Not an easy swap by any means, but I managed to get it done. Now, I'm waiting on a water filter to get here so we can use it. It's hard to believe we spent this much money on a KitchenAid appliance that's worthless until I purchase another part for it. Hey KitchenAid, how about sell one that works straight out of the box?
