Hi KTG80, The warning in your Use and Care Guide is mandated by California's Proposition 65, aka the California Safe Drinking and Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. Paid over $1000 for a warming drawer that won’t close. Installed rails and all the ball bearings on half the left side fall out causing the drawer to be inoperable and unable to close. Now I have to schedule a service call because replacing a faulty rail is not an option. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

So handy--Worth every penny!
Customer review from kitchenaid.com logo
We just had our first occasion to use the warming drawer when we had a large family gathering at our house. I took pies out of the oven and put them in the warmer and they came out beautifully when it was time to eat. With room for only one oven, this kitchen addition will be a big help for those occasions when you need to keep food warm for a crowd.

I love the KitchenAid warming drawer. I think as a fluke, ours quit working after 3 months and needs a new fuse. Other than that, I would recommend it.
