Product Overview

The Klein Tools Depthfinder 65 ft. Steel Fish Tape ensures accurate measurement and easy winding effort. The tape features 1 ft. markings that are permanently etched into the steel and a large, round inner-ring design for rewinding convenience.
  • Fish tapes are 1/8-Inch wide high strength spring steel which are stiff for long runs and great for heavy duty wire pulls
  • Laser etched markings in 1-foot (0.3 m) increments allow you to more accurately measure the depth of conduit runs and determine the amount of tape left to pay out
  • Polypropylene case and handle offer the maximum in impact resistance
  • Raised fingergrips transfer 100-percent of the winding power from your hand and fingers
  • Full grip style handle gives you a firm, steady grip as you pull tape from the case
  • Unique sloped handle optimizes hand position for quick hand-over-hand rewinds
  • Patents: D574,277; 8,212,178; 8,168,921; 8,164,025. Other patents pending

ok
not great. I bought another one by "M" and it's a lot better. doesn't conduct electricity, made of polyester, smoother, and doesn't jam. this one is ok. it's thinner but has jammed a few times. it'd almost half the price of the polyester one, though.

Great product to have when you need it! I had to pull 150 ft of cat 6 and coax through 3/4 inch conduit with a few 90 degree bends. I could not fish the tape through the last couple of feet. So I cut off the end and added a Klein fish tape leader which was able to get past the point where I was getting hung up. You want to wrap any edges that could get hung up with electrical tape. Here is the link to the fish tape leader: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools-Fish-Tape-Leader-50350/202530373 After the tape was fished through the conduit pulling was a pretty much a breeze. I have other Klein tapes and rods but none were long enough. The tape is easy enough to feed and like all tapes tedious to rewind. You do want to keep a little tension on the tape as you are rewinding just so it doesn't bind. A good way to do that is to have your teenage son grab the tape with a lightly oiled rag. This not only cleans the tape but coats it with a light film of oil to prevent rust. I have always had good experiences with Klein products.

We used this fish tape for its spring steel, cutting the first 24 feet to make a 6’ square. We covered that with cloth and made a pop-up square shape for a Halloween costume (human pedestrian crossing sign). The spring steel was perfect. Additionally, there’s 26’ of steel left on the Fish tape!

Works great, at least through open wall pulls. May be a little hard going through conduit, especially through 1" conduit. I used it to pull Cat 6 cable through an open wall and this model has the best head for holding Cat 6 cable firmly in place without damaging the cable end while pulling. Other brands and models of fish tape have much smaller heads and you would end up having to tape the cable to the fish tape end which then leaves sticky residue etc. Also, the tape feeds out pretty easily and pulls back in very easy. The trick is the hold the orange ring in one hand and the black handle in the other and rotate the handle around the ring to dispense or pull back the tape. Don't pull or push the tape itself out of or into the orange ring as it will bind. The tape is small and compact and easily fits in my over stuffed tool bag. I like it!

I fished a 14-3 two stories and then again through a ceiling and it did exactly what I needed. Good price as well!

Extremely helpful and not so daunting.
I haven't purchased one of these mainly because I was concerned about its utility. However, on my first project it seems that I should have bought it sooner - I might have started other projects sooner! I used this to pull doorbell wire up from my basement (where my transformer was installed) up into baseplate of frame near front door for use with my new Nest Pro Doorbell. So easy. Flexible but firm. Pot lights, etc, here we come!

Item was damaged and I was over charged $5 for it. I just haven't had time to take it back
Project underground conduit from home to lamp post" 5351 Cadillac. item was damaged and I was over charged $5 for it. I just haven't had time to take it back. Its become a real problem w/ home depot. Chinese manufactured goods aren't ment to last for a pro. This is a manual tool and the mechanism could not come out 100 ft and is rusting while on the shelf. It took forever to get back in the casement as in I had to cover it after hour and go back and attack it again the next day. What a hassle. I later had to barrow one from an eletricain freind to do the work that should have taken about 20 minute took a week..
