Product Overview

LEVEL SENSE alarm is a High Water Alarm that alerts you before a Basement Sump Pump allows water to back up into the basement. The difference between LEVEL SENSE Alarm and every other product on the market is the rechargeable battery and its ability to guard for more than a week when AC power is lost. Most high water alarms today come with a 9VDC alkaline back-up battery. Alkaline Batteries need to be remembered, checked and changed in order to be certain they will operate during a power failure. Not the case with LEVEL SENSE alarm straps directly to the sump pump discharge pipe (or can be wall mounted) and contains a power supply, float switch, float switch bracket and mounting accessories for all of it in the box. LEVEL SENSE Alarm installs in Minutes and can be heard anywhere in the home.

Without this alarm, our sewage ejector tank contents would rise to a dangerous level whenever the pump switch failed, which happened about every 3 years or so. The last time it failed, fluid rose to the water heater drain and started to flood that room. Fortunately I had placed a water sensor alarm next to the floor drain and heard the alarm in time to turn off the water main, but that really is a 'last ditch' solution. With this alarm installed, the siren activates when the fluid level rises 4" above the normal range for the ejector pump, which is about 10" below the flood level. Think of it as an 'early warning' indicator. The siren is loud enough that it can be easily heard, especially in the shower of the bathroom which drains into the tank. Setup was easy. I'm not sure how long the rechargeable backup batteries will last, but I don't expect that to be a major issue since everyone here is trained not to use the downstairs bathroom in the event of a power failure, since the ejector pump requires AC power. Still, it is nice to have the battery backup for the alarm in case someone is unaware of the risks. If the backup batteries are lithium, hopefully they will last 5+ years and be replaceable after the warranty has long expired.
