Little Giant APCP-1700 (577301) is a 115-Volt Automatic Pool Cover Pump with a low energy consumption, permanent-split capacitor (PSC) 1/3HP motor. It has Screened Intake, 1 in. FNPT Discharge, Glass-filled polypropylene Housing and 25 ft. power cord. The APCP-1700 model activates in approximately 2 in. of water and deactivates in approximately 1.5 in. of water. The APCP-1700 has a wide base design for needed stability. Intermittent Liquid Temperature is up to 120 degree F. Little Giant APCP-1700 is ideal for removing water from all types of pool covers. The 1700 GPH performance was obtained through a 1 in. I.D. tube, with friction losses neglected. Using a 3/4 in. garden hose 50 foot long reduces this performance to approximately 500 gallons per hour due to friction losses in the hose. If your area frequently has heavy rain falls, (1 in. - 2 in. per hour), it may be necessary to use 1 in. tubing. This should be available in most pool supply stores.
Maximum Head: 23 feet

A:Â I am not sure what you mean by inlet connection. Please look under the header "info and guides" on the Home Depot product listing page for this product. There you will find a PDF of the instructions. On page three is a list of the replacement parts that are available. Could you please identify the part number for the part you are looking for. Answer This Question
A:Â This pump is less than 10 pounds and is easily removed during freezing temps. It can be used for any pool cover. We only put ours out when water collects..if it freezes, it will crack and no longer operate.

A:Â Approximately 5lbs.
I used it on an above ground pool cover.
It worked very well through especially through the winter.
I didn't remove pump when it got below freezing.Just keep an eye on it when temps go below freezing.

A:Â It weighs 10 pounds. I use it for a loop-lock in-ground pool cover so I don't know how it would function above ground.

A:Â This item weighs 4.67 pounds.
by|May 5, 2023
A:Â Product Weight is 4.67lb. As to your second question. When water freezes it exerts roughly 100,000 PSI. So essentially there are no products that contain water that will not be destroyed if the water inside them freezes.

I purchased a home the summer of 2017 that had an in-ground pool and this Pool Cover Pump so when it stop functioning prior to the pool closing the Fall of 2018 I decided to purchase the same pump, however although they were identical pumps I notice the difference between the two immediately. The first pump would pump all noticeable water from the cover, the second pump left a puddle, I cannot say how deep this puddle was but it was more than I liked and more than the first pump, then it stop pumping altogether. You could hear the pump motor running but it would not pump out any water at all. I though that it may have been clogged so I inspected cleaned it but it still would not pump water.

Good pump
This is our second little giant pump. Our first one lasted over 6 years. It came with our pool and we really did not get any instructions on it. We just put it on the pool cover every year at closing and took it off to store each spring. We never cleaned it or took it off when the water froze. Ours finally went out this winter when it was very cold and water was freezing. I decided to buy the same one since our pool guy usually uses what he finds works best over his many years of experience. I find out now that we should have been caring for it a little better. So I feel it did well, and plan on this one lasting us another 6 years or more
